I've been on Mummy a few times and don't mind it too much. The launch is something I can't do more than once a day though. Can someone compare the launch at RnRC to the mummy launch? I think I can handle the inversions, but want to make sure the launch is not a lot more intense than Mummy. I asked on a RnRC thread, but only one person gave an opinion. Can anyone help?

I've never done Hulk and can't find the launch or Gforce info on Mummy. I know it has a Gforce and launch, but the site you quoted doesn't show them. I don't necessarily need numbers, just an idea of how much more intense RnRC is over Mummy.

I haven't been on the mummy but I'm looking forward to it. I'm not a huge coaster person, I mainly go on them because other people I go with want to. I have been on RnR and I can tell you in complete honesty that it is a very mild ride. The take off is absolutely the only surprising aspect of the ride. However, it's so quick you don't even know what's going on. After the take off everything is very calm, smooth and in slow motion. I don't find the launch intense. It is a bit of a surprise, but it's nothing to worry about.

According to DH, the launches on both RnR and Hulk are pretty intense. He said the Mummy doesn't even compare; that it's hardly a launch at all.

I've only ridden RnR once, about 9 years ago, because I got such a headache due to not being able to catch my breath after the launch. (It's not the inversions - I rode Manta and Dueling Dragons with no problems.) I won't ride Hulk because of the launch. I've only ridden Mummy once, but had no problems.

If launches are a problem for you, I would get a FP and then use it at the very end of the day, just in case it gives you trouble.

I have done both of these coasters and the RnR coaster is MUCH worse than the Mummy. I agree with the poster above in that Mummy hardly has a launch.

Okay, thanks, that is what I was afraid of. I had a brain surgery in 2003 and although I don't seem to have any problems with regular coasters(other than really not liking the drops, LOL), the launch of Mummy made me really light headed and shaky when I did it twice in a row a few years ago. If RnRC is that much more intense, it isn't worth me trying it. Maybe I will stick with riding Splash with DS(he wants me to ride some things I have been scared to ride).

Seeing as it's a health concern, I would definitely avoid. Splash Mountain is one of my favorites. :goodvibes

Yeah, but I really hate drops, LOL. I can do SM and BTMRR, and simulators are fine, but that drop looks awfully big!

I don't think you will be able to find the g-forces listed anywhere. You only have to be 48 inches tall to ride Mummy, so it is pretty tame.

The Mummy launch just seems intense because you are going up while being launched, however once you top the incline it's not bad at all.

RnR takes a little bit of getting used to for me. With asthma I have to focus on breathing during the take off but it doesn't keep me from riding it!!!

I think the launch is the best part of RnRC! We haven't been to Universal yet but I can't wait to try all their coasters too. Thank goodness my whole family love thrill rides!!:woohoo:

The Mummy in the front seat is the BEST! More intense for sure.

I am right to assume you mean rock n roller coaster at DHS??

Launch on Mummy is top speed 40 MPH but speed decreases after that. (the launch into Imoteph's face)

RnR launch is 57 MPH and goes right into inversions. Ride has multiple inversions and is very loud. WAY MORE INTENSE THAN MUMMY!!!!

Sorry if this is duplicated info

Sorry, for some reason I mistook Mummy for Hulk. I have no idea why.

The Mummy is way less intense than RnR.

There is no comparison. Mummy goes up a hill, then down. THere is no shooting out or anything like that, think a faster version of a regular coaster. I do not think it is a chain pull as I never heard the "clink" sound, it is smooth and goes up fast. Aerosmith and Hulk do the "blow out" super fast take off.

Personally, mummy is good, I like it but it is more theatrical to me than a roller coaster.

I think RnR at DHS is WAY MORE INTENSE and is visually exciting as well. Mummy is great but the visual excitement happens a lot more before the coaster begins.

The launch on RnR is stand still-go just like an Audi going form 0 to 60 it is smooth but fast.
