We've eaten at Mythos several times, but never tried CG. After our last dinner at Mythos, we've decided to only have lunch there from now on. We were thinking of trying CG for dinner instead. Mythos is the only park restaurant we've eaten at. It's time we tried some of the others. Anyway, how do the two restaurants compare in food quality & atmosphere? Would you recommend CG for dinner? The info I'm finding is all for the Character Breakfast, so I'm hoping you guys can help. TIA :)

It doesnt measure up. Its completely different. But its still good.

Why don't you like Mythos for dinner? That is what I think we are going to do for our upcoming trip the end of June.

I realize it's completely different. There wouldn't be much need for 2 identical restaurants in the same park. ;) I'm more interested in whether or not the food quality & creativity is similar to Mythos. Also, whether the atmosphere is unique & special like at Mythos.

It's only open for dinner, during high/ peak season. Because of this, they serve from the same menu all day. After a disappointing meal on our last visit, we decided the menu was better suited for lunch. We'll still go, but we won't plan to have our big meal of the day there any more. Admittedly, we probably put much more emphasis on our vacation dinners than most people do.

We've never had good luck at Confisco's.

Oh well, it sounded like a good idea, when I was tossing it around in my head. :p

Hello tarheelmjfan:wave2: I had a mediocre meal at Mythos this trip! :duck: If I hadnt had so many amazing meals there I might be inclined to not eat there again. It wasnt that anything was horrible just totally overcooked. One meal was sent back twice and they still got it wrong! They removed it from the bill and offered desserts to the table. The restaurant was not terribley busy so I cant say what the problem was.

Confiscos has always offered a decent meal. Not on par with Mythos though. I do like their Caesar salad with grilled chicken a lot! We didn't eat there this trip so I cant say how its been recently but I wouldnt hesitate to have a lunch there. My kids love Confisco's Fries with all the different dipping sauces.
We had an incredible meal at Lombard's Landing this trip! I'm going to post our dining picks and meals we ate and some pics we took too!

I love Confisco's, but I always order the same thing: Ceasar salad with grilled chicken, fried pepperocinis, kalamata olives on a warm flatbread. Oh, and a large Foster's, please :)

I LOVE this lunch. It's probably the only "big" salad I've ever ordered in my life where I can eat every drop.

Now, DH always orders something else and doesn't care so much for it. So it might be one of those places that has a great "blank" -- you fill in the blank -- but everything else is just so-so.

You'd think after, what, 40 visits or so to CG, he'd order the best thing on the menu, but he won't :confused3 He usually settles on a burger there and is always disappointed because there are much better burgers at IOA (Marvel area and Wimpy's).

The fries are good, too. The presentation is great. Appetizer fries I'm talking about, not a side order on your plate.

There is no competition at all between atmosphere. Mythos has the feel of fine dining. CG does not. And when I say the presentation of the fries are great, they don't compare with the presentation of dishes from Mythos. But compared to your local family-friendly joint, the fries are pretty cool.

HTH :)

I can't stress enough how awesome that salad is!

We have eaten in both, many times. On our last visit we preferred Confisco's over Mythos. The year before, it would have been the other way around. Why? I honestly don't know. Just like choice of hotels there are so many variables when it comes to dining and you can get a different feeling from one day to the next.

Just subscribing ;)
I was wondering about these two places for our
upcoming June/July trip.

So, it sounds like Confisco Grille is also a better lunch choice. Would you recommend Finnegan's &/ or Lombard's for dinner? Thanks again :)

Where is Confisco? We will definitely try it on our next trip.

IMO, Finnegans is definitely more of a lunch stop and Finnegans was just WOW. My mahi sandwhich was so good, I cant wait to try everything on their menu!! Service was great as well. :thumbsup2

Eat at Mythos and then (unless you want to Warm Chocolate Banana Gooey Cake) head to Confisco's for dessert.

I've never quite forgiven Mythos for dropping their fabulous desserts and substituting those silly shot glass mini desserts (an idea they "borrowed" from Seasons52 on Sand Lake Road, BTW). They only brought back the WCBGC after people screamed bloody blue murder.

Confisco's desserts are pretty durn good.

Good suggestion! We've never tried the Choc. Banana Cake, but it doesn't sound very appealing to me. I'd be curious to know what others think about it though. We like to all 3 order a different dessert & sample all of them. Their desserts used to be so good. I agree with you. Why mess with a good thing? :sad2: I'd love to find a dessert menu & wine list for Confisco's. None of the menus I've found include either.

We'll probably try Lombard's for dinner too. It sounds like a good choice. Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions. :)

I found on our last trip in April Confiscos surpassed itself, the menu was a lot better than Mythos my steak was delicious, DW had the ribs, DS had burger and DD had veggie pizza one of our best dining experiences over a 16 day trip

I agree concerning the "artificially inseminated test tube" desserts. I still get the banana gooey cake but with extra foster sauce since chocolate is not one of my favorites. As an asside there seems to be a lack of culinary people to hire at this current time. The wait time for food at Mythos is up cause they have the tables and the servers, but not the cooks to put the food over the counter. This has been really apparent during the Memorial Day weekend with the larger crowd count. :cool2:
