Does the manufacturer of CompactFlash memory cards make any difference on the quality of digital pictures? Need to get a bigger card but don’t know about the quality level of various cards. Can use your advice, Thanks

I personally have noted no differnce in quailty myself. I own a kodak, A compact flash, and 2 others but can't recall names.

no, the brand of compact flash will not effect the quality of your pictures, that will depend on your camera and number of megapixels.

The difference in compact flash cards (besides the memory size) are speed (the higher the speed, the faster it saves the pictures to the cards, faster you can take another)

You will also want to check the warranty on each manufacturer's cards, some only have a one year warranty, some five, some lifetime.

I purchased a Nilon Cloopix 5700. The manual has approved memory cards as SunDisk (up to 128MB) and Lexar (4X, 8X up to 80MB and 10X up to 160MB). I would like to get a 256MB card but the manual doesn't have it on the approved list. It came with a Lexar so I would like to stick with the same mfg.

Lexar is great, and 256 will work fine. I use 256's in my 995 (I an jealous of that 5700!!!!! ;)) And a high transfer rate 10X or 12X is great too. Hope to see some of the results!!!!!!

Thanks Dan, I will look for the Lexar 256 with a 10X or X transfer rate...will use it during out Thanksgiving week trip to WDW.
