know if this is a good place to stay(clean, convienent ect) We are a family of 6 and need a really affordable place to stay. I understand these rooms sleep 6 and in Dec they run about $50 a night with AAA
But I really don't want to stay in a dive ya know?

Very nice hotel. Very clean. It's new about 2 or 3 yrs. old. We stayed last year and would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Yes, the room can hold six people. We had five in our room, sometimes six (My sons best friend family came and he stayed in our room most nites). I do have to tell you, you only get 4 drawers it wasnt much room for our things so I kept some things in the closet, luggage and window ledge. They had cable TV. The beds were very comfortable. I always have a hard time going to sleep in hotels because I'm used to my bed, but I was really surpised at the comfortness of the beds. The bathroom was a nice size also. I hate small bathrooms. The room had a little kitchen area with a mini fridge, microwave, a sink, cabinets above and below the sink, a coffeemaker. We stopped at Publix on the way in. I bought frozen pizzas, water, sodas, chips, lunchmeat and other snacks for the room, they all stored nicely in the cabinets. A table with 2 chairs, a sofabed with 2 end tables with lamps on them along with the 2 queen size beds. They had an alarm clock we used to wake us up in the morning. So now you have an idea of how big the room is.

The pool is very nice. They sell lounge floats in the convenience store for the pool. I bought one for my son. When we came back from the park one afternoon, I layed on it in the pool, very relaxing. The jaccuzi is very nice fits about 8-10 people depending on their sizes. There's nothing behind the hotel, so as I was relaxing in the jacuzzi I just looked at the greenery. They have a poolside bar that sells burgers, snacks and drinks. Try the frozen Mango Margarita. Very tasty. You will get a buy one drink get one free coupon upon checkin.

The game room is nice. They had about six arcade games, table top air hockey, a change machine and some pinball machines. The kids could roam the hotel by themselves, its not huge, its very comfortable. The staff was excellent, answered all our questions and were very pleasant.

The bus shuttles where excellent also. Plush new buses, we were the first hotel to be picked up in the morning so always had a seat. It stops at 2 other hotels.

The free deluxe continental breakfast saved me money also. They had cereal (Corn Flakes, Raisin Bran and Froot Loops), Fresh Fruit, Waffles, English Muffins, Muffins, Doughnuts, Danishes, Juices (Apple and Orange) Coffee, Tea. My son had his favorite breakfast every morning (Raisin Bran with Bananas) so I was happy with that. It's next to Old Town. One evening we went there. Lots of souvenir stores across the street. I can't say enough good things about this hotel.

I like to give people detailed information when answering questions. You will not be disappointed. Any more questions, I'll be happy to answer. :)

What a great detailed reply! I really appreciate it! Now I am not quite so disappointed about not being able to stay on site!
Thank you! :D

One more question though........the buses....do they run often? And how late after park closes or before park opens do they run?

You are very welcome.

The Disney shuttle buses left 3 times in the morning. The first bus is the bus we always took because we like to get to the park as soon as they open.

They had two sets of buses, Disney buses and Universal & Seaworld buses.

Disney Buses
I'm trying to be specific here. The first bus left about 8:15, we had two stops at the other hotels, we got to the parks about 9:00. The buses would go to Epcot. People got off. Then Animal Kingdom. People got off. and so forth. So the time you arrive at your park depends on what park you were going to that day. the next one was about 9:30ish and the next one was about 11am.

Now coming back, the first bus didn't leave until 5pm the next around 7. I'm not sure about the last bus because we always got on the first bus out. One day we took a taxi back to the hotel around 3, we were really exhausted and just wanted to hit the pool.

Universal & Seaworld buses
The Universal Shuttle left about 8:15. We arrived at the parks before the crowds. it dropped people off then went to Seaworld.

The first pickup from Universal was at 3pm. We loved this because we had done the whole park and was ready to go back to the hotel by then. So this was perfect. When it picked us up we went to Seaworld and picked up folks. I don't know the pickup times after that.

When we went last year I called the hotel. They faxed me the bus schedule while I was at work in advance. So this may be something you want to do.

I enjoyed the buses. I had no problems. And they do leave on time. When it says departing 8:15, they mean 8:15. They always arrived 10 minutes early and didn't wait for anyone.

Hope this helped.

:)

It is a really nice , clean hotel - young, about 3 yrs young. We stayed there during the opening week April, 1999 and loved it. Set back in from the highway, 192, and most enjoyable too. Their pool is wonderful and the poolside grill is convenient. At the time they had super hot and cold continental breakfasts with so many choices. Have a great time.

Even though I didn't start this thread, thanks for the great descriptions! I am going to be staying there from June 16th until June 22nd before a Disney cruise. My rate is $65 plus tax per night. Is this rate too high?

I believe in Disney magic :earsgirl:
I believe in Bowling Green State University hockey :) :bounce:

HockeyHeather, our rate was lower than that but that is because we are going in December AND used AAA. I think your rate is pretty good considering a summer trip!

You will love it! Pool is nice and clean. We plan on staying there again next year!

If you were going to use your own car, how long of a drive is it to each park? Thanks!

About 10 minutes to each park. You don't even have to get on I-4. In and out very easily. We didn't use the shuttle service at all - I like the flexibility of coming and going when I want to.

We never used the shuttle either but with the construction completed on Irlo Bronson Highway, 192, it is very easy to get to all the parks. Have a wonderful time - we enjoyed ourselves!!!

do you know if this hotel has a website???? I would like to check it out. Does it have a restaurant or just a buffet for breakfast??? We are planning a trip in october. Our room will have 5. It sounds great for the price. Thanks Ann

thanks for the help, it looks like a great place to stay. So far i have not heard anything bad about it. i think i will check with the others in our party and make reservations. Thanks again. Ann
