Commuting between Parks

Is there a way to commute between WDW Parks ( MK, AK , EPCOT, MGM)
Trying to decide how best to deal with Park Hopping.

Yes - there area number of ways

1) Disney Transportation
-the buses - however, for water parks you'd have to transfer at TTC or a resort
-the monorail (Epcot and Magic Kingdom are on the monorail so you can use that)
-boats - there are boats that go to Epcot and MGM from certain resorts, you can check them out

2) Walking - only possible between MGM and Epcot, about a 15 - 20 minute walk

3) Rent-A-Car - gas is expensive, but it's a lot easier on you

4) taxi service - cabs are about 12 - 14 dollars to anywhere on WDW property

Park to park is EZ, it is resort to resort that can be difficult.

Just go out of the park you want to leave and hop on a bus to the park you want to go to.

You can go from MK to EPCOT or the reverse by monorail.

I read a thread where people leave one place and get on the first bus that comes along to play a version of Disney Roulette. I plan to try that next trip. Never know where it might lead me.

Busses do park to park but not resort to resort.
The boat is slow between MGM and Epcot, but it's nice if you want to start in on the world showcase first. It does make three stops, Boardwalk, Yacht and Beach Club, Swan and Dolphin.
MK to Epcot, there's no better way than the monorail.

And the bus drivers are nice, once we were trying to come from down town back to epcot after the park closed, and there weren't anymore busses, so the driver took us over there, and made sure we got to our car before leaving.

It's very easy to park your car and not touch it for the rest of the trip. Although if you're in a big rush, a car is about the fastest besides the monorail.

The Disney Transportation System is for resort guests and is free.

I love it. Three trips and I've only used their system.

All Disney transportation is free for guests. This include all buses, boats and the monorail. As others have already said, there are buses from park to park. I must add however, that this is not true for the Magic Kingdom. If you want to go between the MK and Epcot you take the monorail over to the TTC and transfer to the other monorail line. (Epcot monorail is separate from the MK monorail but connect at the TTC).
If you want to go to any other park from the MK you can monorail over to the TTC or any of the MK resorts (Poly, GF, or Contemporary) and take a bus from there. In June we walked from the MK to the Contemporary and took a bus to the Animal Kingdom from there. Only about a ten minute walk from the MK entrance to the CR bus station.
We find that part of the fun of WDW is using their transportation system. Very relaxing to let someone else do the driving while we enjoy the sites and marvel at how BIG WDW really is!

In the past we have stayed on site and used the buses. Loved it!

This time we are staying off site. We were told that as long as we
have the Park hopper option on our MYW passes, we can still use all
the transportation. Is this true?

We'll just have to make sure we leave
our car where we're going to end up at the end of the day.

Technically anyone can use the buses to get to resorts or parks. They don't check IDs or anything. I guess they assume anyone who's at the park already should be able to have dinner at one of their resorts or other theme parks.

i think it is free to anyone with a pass. we have been checked one time in all the trips( we must have looked shady ) at FW..maybe they are more careful due to hoop dee doo

checked on allears and it says it still is free with admission so i am guessing even the basic passes include transportation

All Disney resort guests and others with a theme park admission can use all WDW transportation.
