We are currently booked at BWV's for a week in March, two families, 4 preteens/teens. Our kids have previously enjoyed the BWV's community hall particularly because it is right beside the quiet pool. They were able to switch between swimming and activities while we remained at the pool.

Can anyone compare the Community Halls at BWV's to SSR for me? I wouldn't mind trying SSR this trip but want to make sure that the kids will enjoy the Community Hall there. We are not intending to spend much time in the parks this trip.

Thanks in advance for your help

Well - I can't compare the activities, but I do know the SSR is a little further away from the main pool area. Only like a 50 yards or so, just around the bend.

The BWV community hall overlooks the quiet pool.

We use the Community Halls almost daily when there. My DS's would rather go to the CH's than to the parks :confused3
Since you are already familiar with BWV's CH, I will focus on SSR

Size: SSR's CH is larger. It has 2 separate areas. 1 for activities and the other for PS2, TV, Ping Pong, and Foosball. You can check out PS2 games free with your room key. My boys were allowed to check out their own games. AT BWV they have Nintendo stations but the games are not changeable.

Location: SSR's CH is very close to the main pool area. BWV's is closer to the quiet pool area. The Arcade is directly across from the CH. The main pool and pool bar with self serve refillable mug station is also right outside the rear exit. The Artist Palette and Carriage House is up the stairs.

Activities: SSR has scheduled activities daily with the last activity ending around 8pm. They also have pool games and poolside activities. The staff is excellent and very involved with the activities. Not a criticism of BWV, but I found their staff stayed behind the desk and issued activities.

Basketball, Tennis and Shuffleboard equipment can be checked out with room key. Noodles and swim vests also as well as BBQ equipment. We made KTTW lanyards, Ice Cream, and Backpacks last trip.
The sports courts are a block away from CH by the DVC center.

We only buy refillable mugs at SSR. The mug stations are convenient to the pool and CH area.

DisneyQuest is also a boat ride away and many times they like to hop the boat with DH and spend a couple of hours at DQ.

The main area at SSR is set up like a town square, so everything is centrally located.

If you want to check out DVD's at SSR, that is not at CH, they are in Artist Pallette.

I think we will give SSR a try for March. Our kids really like the BWV one but sound like SSR will be as good if not better. We had noticed that the CM's at BWV were not all that involved with the kids. They were friendly but definitely were 'observing' rather than interacting.

Thanks again for the details!
