Doc...I think that's an excellent idea. I'll have to put my thinking cap on, but I think you've hit most of the main ones.

I suppose you could add DVD, which we sometimes refer to when referencing the Disney subsidiary that actually sells DVC. I suppose you could also add:

BWV PV = Boardwalk Villas Preferred View

BWV SV = Boardwalk Villas Standard View

I think that 1BR, 2BR and GV are self-explanatory but who knows?

I've seen PH = pool hopping.

And EMH is brought up from newbies wanting to know if they qualify for it when staying at DVC resorts.

I'm sure there are others. :)

ROFR-Right Of First Refusal

TSS-The Timeshare Store

MF-Maintenance Fees

CH-Community Hall or Carriage House @ SSR

DTD-Downtown Disney

EOS-Earl of Sandwich

DDE-Disney Dining Experience

DDP-Disney Dining Plan

I've seen some others, but the DIS has rules.

One new one I think we need is HYS (Here's Your Sign).

This is great info. I know it's posted elsewhere (Technical Board?), but this would make a great sticky on each DVC board. That way, we'd have all the info nobody reads in one place!

ILMD :goodvibes , OOP is Out Of Pocket. When you have the Dining Plan credits, but choose to pay OOP for certain meals or drinks.

Here's a new one

BBB-Bibbity Bobbity Boutique @ DTD

SSMC05 or SSMC06-SS Member Cruise and the year it sailed.

US/IOA-Universal Studios/Islands of Adventures (The 2 Universal Orlando Parks)

SW-Sea World

SWDC-Sea World Discovery Cove

MCO-The Orlando International Airport

MS-Also could be Mission Space if used in reference to Epcot Rides

IASW-It's A Small World Ride

EE-Expedition Everest

WWYD-What Would You Do?

TR-Trip Report

FWF or F&WF-Food & Wine Festival (Annually at Epcot)

FOTM-Festival of The Masters (Annually at DTD)

Guide-DVC Sales Agent

LBV-Lake Buena Vista

I've also seen:

MNSSHP-Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party
and not sure if it's exact, but

MVMCP-? Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party?

It took me a few guesses to figure these out when reading posts.

Since there have been a number questions regarding the acronyms and other abbreviations used frequently on our DVC Boards, there may be some value in creating our own list.

I didn't know what OVIR was till last week, it wasn't on any list of Abbrv.

Ocean View Inn Room at VB

BLT = Bay Lake Tower, the new building at the Contemporary.

Geez....I knew almost all the abbreviations:lmao: I think I hang out here too much:rolleyes1
Kerri

I guess we should pick one for the Villas at the Grand Californian. Most of the time I've seen GCV, but I've also seen VGC.

So what's ITA? I've seen it several times the past week and for whatever reason am drawing a blank...
