Hi all,

After 10 years since our last visit we are returning for a week on June 6 - 13, staying off-site at Windsor Hills. This is our 3rd family trip to WDW, the kids are now teens/young adults, and this will probably be our last big "family vacation" together until they (and we) are out on their own(and possibly with our grandkids in tow:goodvibes ). We are all psyched on returning to WDW from our more "aged" perspectives. ;)

The usual suspects: DH50(me), DW46, DD19, DS17, DD15 (in DISspeak)
All have agreed to the general battle-plan of eat good breakfast, arrive a half-hour early - leave midday - return later, to minimize both the crowds and the heat. We may eat a couple of lunches or dinners on-site but prefer to go on a good breakfast / midday snack / early dinner plan of attack for both monetary and dietary reasons(WDW food is hit-or-miss quality wise and of course, overpriced:snooty: )

Our "Commando light" plan means we will get up bright and early at least 4 days - one for each park, and still have "flex time" for: being spontaneous while on VACATION!, rain-outs, returning to a "must do" missed attraction, hopping, impromptu TL or BB or DTD, pool/resort time(BLENDER DRINKS:cool2: ), Spa treatment(pedicure for DW and DD's), golf for me, etc.

We have a tentative schedule of which parks to do each day(both am and pm - possible hopping) based upon EMH's, several historic "busiest days" data, which attractions we most want to do, have read-up on how to use fastpass, and can read a map so we're not crisscrossing the parks aimlessly wasting time/energy, and will carry water and a snack. But if anyone can recommend things such as: For example at EP do we go to Soarin' first, get a FP, go across and do TestTrack and MissionSpace and then go on based upon the FP time? At MK, do we hit Splash and Thunder Mountain first, do Pirates, and then onto SpaceMountain? Same question for all the other parks. We're hoping to beat the extreme crowds and some of the midday sun by going early, but still figure the parks will be pretty busy by 11 or 12 at the latest, and figure the last hour or so each am will be for any "look at that stuff" and "it's not too crowded right now" attractions. Any thoughts? Are the many guide books and/or Tourguidemike worth it, as we are not going full, all-out Commando?

Any tips, advice - anything to make this plan(and our vacation) better or major pitfalls you see would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

My best advice is to check out www.TourGuideMike.com His advice of which parks to visit which days, based upon his experience with crowd patterns at WDW, is invaluable!

Have a wonderful trip! :smickey:
