i mentioned in the last review that whe headed out to AK To see the safari at night, grab a bite, and watch the jungle book and that one of these three things was fantastic. It was the nighttime safari - we loved it!
We love the food at AK. There are so many great choices - Harambe Market, Yak & Yeti, Flame Tree and lots of little kiosks throughout the park. Our plan was to hit the safari and then grab something to eat while we waited for Jungle Book. Well, great idea except the food places all start closing at 8:00 even though the park is open until 11. The last places close around 10 and only Restaurantasaurus is open until park close.
Wait - we did have snacks
On the way to the bus we stopped to grab Dole Whips from the Pineapple Lanai at the Poly (we dumped them in small cups because they were melting fast. They were prettier before this! Vanilla and pineapple swirl - amazing!
We also shared a Mickey pretzel with cheese before the safari. Cheese - hot cheese??? We thought this stuff was banned! So happy to see it back. Pretzel was good - a typical Mickey pretzel. But we wanted dinner food!
Any EPIC mom fail on not realizing anything would be open. So the kids ran through to ride Expedition Everest and dh and I hoofed it over to Restaurantasaurus. We grabbed three meals to split between the three of us - 2 chicken nugget meals and one cheeseburger meal. Dh and I shared one of the nugget meals.
Eh - I mean it was fine. Disney does a decent job for chicken nuggets I guess. But this is never what I would pick and it certainly wasn't what we wanted. Oh well, live and learn, right? Or would we?
To be continued....
