Coming to you Live from Disney World!-Take 2 AUG/SEPT WINNERS ANNOUNCED

One more update from Maiky, this one from their dinner last night at the Polynesian's...

Maiky said, "After watching Wishes from the beach at the Polynesian Resort we visited 'Ohana, also for the first time. The food was good and tasty (especially dessert) but I'm not sure that I would repeat the experience. It was too much food for me and I felt full just looking at the amount of meat flying around."

"We started with the bread and some drinks. (The Lapu Lapu and the Backscratcher)."

Lapu Lapu - Myers's Original Dark rum and tropical fruit juices served in a fresh pineapple topped with Bacardi 151 rum

Backscratcher - Bacardi Superior rum, Myers's Original Dark rum, and passion fruit juice topped with Jack Daniel's

Now for some lunch updates, starting with Debby's (Marblies) lunch at Epcot's...

Here is what they chose...

Ooops. Marblies (aka Debby) here. The above post was supposed to say that the SALAD was a little boring, not salsa. haha. It was mostly iceberg lettuce with a dozen edamame thrown in. Could have been a little more exciting. Just so you all know, my daughter Jasmine is doing almost all the photos and blogging. She has the nicer phone cam. ;). Have to give credit where credit is due. It is great fun doing these updates. Lots more to send tomorrow morning. Jasmine is doing homework for her chemistry class right now.

bluejasmine also had lunch at Epcot today, but she chose Japan's...

Katsura Grill

She said, "We both had sushi."

"I had spicy tuna...

...and Tommy had a combo."

"And for dessert, I had the green tea cheesecake...

...while Tommy was boring and got the pre-packaged cookie." :(

"Melissa loved the meatball too, and tried a little of most things."

"Allie picked hers out and ate noodles and chicken."

One more update was received today, this one from bluejasmine.

Whew! Thanks for the clarification! My first thought when I read it was "why is Lotus Blossom putting salsa on their salads"? :)

Now for our First Update of the Day sent to us by Debby (Marblies) & daughters.

Yesterday they headed over to the Grand Floridian to have afternoon tea at...

"This is our favorite little secret!"

'"Mrs. Potts and Chip tile art on the floor of the entry."

"Just too cute!"

"The front of the menu book is adorable. So sad that this one is blurry. :( I will have to double check every picture from now on!"

"We ordered 2 Buckingham Teas and a Prince Edward and chose our pairing teas of Chamomile, Nobo Whole Fruit, and Vanilla Rooibos."

"Deb and Jess ordering their teas." :)

"The china is cute, but they understandably took away the Royal Albert Old Country Roses fine china for ceramic china about three years ago."

"The first course of the Prince Edward Tea was a pate and cheese plate including duck and cherry terrine, chicken and pork roulade, country pate en croute, and English Bleu Stilton."

"The Buckingham tea first course included a series of sandwiches. A cucumber and cream cheese, egg salad, salmon, curried chicken, and pear and gorgonzola. Mmm!"

"Second course for all was a scone and tart with lemon curd, Devonshire cream, and strawberry jam."

"It was so lovely that we had our friend from Austin join us." :)

"As you can see, we liked it!"

"Our final course was a choice of strawberries and cream or two dainty pastries from the dessert tray. Unanimously, we ordered strawberries and cream. Deb traded her Port for a dessert because the Prince Edward does not serve a dessert."

"We love our Disney tea room!"

I can't wait to update from Disney this afternoon! I had to catch up on 40 or so pages from this thread, and after my boyfriend took dd to school, he offered to get an oil change and I asked him to pick up breakfast. I ended up ordering a cheeseburger from his favorite breakfast place, which I am blaming entirely on this thread because I was hungry.

I'm so excited to be heading over to Disney, a trip that I started thinking about dining reservations for a couple weeks back. However, I (somehow) forgot to book my hotel. :rotfl2: Not kidding! I just called to make the reservation, and they're doing updates to the system and reservations are down until 11:30.

Soooo, we have some wonderful plans for our "surprise" mother daughter trip, but we might not have a place to stay. ;) I blame it on the craziness of school starting, and being back on the volunteer grind at dd's school ... but seriously, who forgets to book their hotel? THIS GAL.

I'm so sorry but I'm planning on taking the month of December off (from receiving live updates), as there is a large group of us from the Dining Review board who are meeting up at Disney World in early December. (I myself will be there from 12/5 - 12/12) It is my hope that we will collaborate in doing a report of our many dining adventures together here on the live thread immediately following our trip. At this time, I believe that this will serve as my grand finale for the live thread, but I haven't completely ruled out the possibility of starting it up again sometime in 2014. Perhaps on a more limited basis?? :confused3 And just until my Photobucket account is full, that is. ;)

But of course, you (and anyone else going in December) are welcome to post live updates to the thread directly while you are there or shortly after your trip. :thumbsup2

I am so sad this thread is closing down, I am a long time lurker and I really enjoy coming on here. I just wanted to thank you for all the hard work you have put in :)

I'm sad it's almost over too, but it does seem pretty time consuming. Thanks for keeping it going this long! I've loved it!
