Coming to you Live from Disney World!-Take 2 AUG/SEPT WINNERS ANNOUNCED

The owner of the arm that is wrapped around his neck would prefer to remain anonymous, so I'll just leave that half of the picture up to your imagination. ;)

I totally read this wrong at first, and thought you were asking us to guess which DISer it is! To which my only guess was, judging by the loooong dark hair...Patty? Then I re-read and realized DDW's companion probably just doesn't want their picture shared to a bunch of strangers on the internet! :lmao:

I'll be the oddball. I actually LOVE broccoli. So it seems like a great snack if I'm in the park and don't want something too heavy. My kids are like that too- lots of veggies they will take or leave, but I used to offer them broccoli as a treat.

Weird, I know!

That being said- I'm sure my trip will be filled with a lot of "not so healthy" foods, but it's a vacation, so I'm ok with splurging a little.

Sadly we received this final update from yorkshirebelle yesterday. :sad1:

"DH had the BBQ glazed chicken with fries."

"I had the four cheese and pesto pizza."

Whispering Canyon Cafe

"Chocolate chip pancakes - still fluffy." :)

Scrambled egg

"And pancakes (kids)."

Jeanette said, "Service was lacking this morning. Our server crossed the line from good humoured messing around to aggressive and unhelpful. :( Food was good though. :)

Stick to your guns; I hear it all the time about what I eat. Over the last couple of years I have lost over 100lbs (and kept it off). While I still love to eat, broccoli is a huge staple to my diet. My trip in November will be a big challenge though with ADR's set for Citricos, Narcoossee's, Flying Fish, Monsieur Paul, Artist Point and Jiko.

Also, I have to let you know that I have always enjoyed reading your food reviews. With most I share your same thoughts and those I don't I still enjoy your thoughts. If you can remember, we traded a few fun barbs back and forth a little over a year ago when LeCellier went signature. Again, love your food reviews. :thumbsup2
First of all, congrats on the weight loss. :goodvibes Being healthy in Disney is always a challenge, and sometimes it can be almost impossible to stick to a normal routine in WDW. That said, small things add up, and ordering the broccoli at CHH didn't really feel like a sacrifice. Kudos to Disney for offering it, since not everyone wants salt-injected turkey legs and Mickey-shaped pretzels (no, I've never tried either one).

For the record, I've definitely enjoyed some goodies on our trip (they'll be coming up soon in this thread), but that's why it feels good to have healthy food in between. In fact, a properly prepared piece of fish or side of veggies might even taste better to me than a dole whip!

I'm really glad you've enjoyed my reviews. I know not everyone agrees with my opinions, but I still enjoy providing the 'food for thought'. I still remember our Le Cellier banter, but I have to admit that my feelings about LC cooled a lot after our last meal there. The menu still looks good to me (in particular, the lobster poutine on the current menu sounds amazing), but it's definitely overpriced. Factoring in the inconsistent service and dingy atmosphere, I'm now on your side regarding Le Cellier! :thumbsup2

We will close out yesterday with some more updates from DonaldDoleWhip.

He said, "Our dinner on Tuesday was supposed to be at Sanaa, but due to a medical issue we ended up missing it. Four hours later, we decided to dine at...

"My first plate had salmon with chermoula and olives, fufu, cabbage, chakalaka, and avocado, papaya, and grapefruit salad."

"This was a really satisfying plate of food, and I loved the variety of condiments Boma offers to spice things up (such as sambal and horseradish)."

"I also had a plate with various salads and hummus."

"All were good, but my favorite was the watermelon rind salad - it was super refreshing and zesty."

"Of course, I had to have dessert."

"The cassava cake (on the top right) was warm and gooey, while the strawberry mint panna cotta was refreshing and tasted like fresh strawberries. Of course, zebra domes are a classic. The vanilla sauce on the plate was also delicious."

"A few pics of the buffet and restaurant."

"This was our first time having dinner at Boma in 4 years, and we really liked it. Most of the food isn't at the same level as Jiko or Sanaa, but for a buffet, there are plenty of interesting choices."

DDW also added this bonus update of a surprise left for them in their room at AKL.

"Probably because we're celebrating a birthday, we received these zebra domes in our room a few hours before our Boma dinner. What a nice surprise!"

And last in yesterday was an update from DonaldDoleWhip titled,

"A Tale of Two Bakeries"

He said, "The following morning, I headed over to the Boardwalk for a light breakfast."

"I opted to try the multigrain croissant. It was light and slightly crunchy - overall, a great choice!"

"Breakfast and a view..."

"My park choice of the day was originally AK, but I changed it to Epcot at the last minute and scored FP+ reservations for Test Track and Soarin' (the third one went unused, since there was nothing else I felt like doing). While walking through Future World, I noticed that Fountain View's renovation is nearing completion."

"After using my FP+ reservation at Test Track and riding the Sum of All Thrills, I was hungry again. My next stop was France."

"I wanted to return to..."

"To my surprise, the place was mostly empty when I got there (at 10:30 in the morning)."

"Even the utensil dispensers are themed."

"Savory menu"

"While checking out the display case, I saw something that appeared to be new since my last visit - the tartine provençal. It looked great, so I had to try it."

"It was delicious. The rustic bread was topped with hearty eggplant, sweet red peppers, olive oil, and even some goat cheese. Served warm, it was full of flavor and transported me to the South of France."

"Another thing in the display case also caught my eye."

"Do you see it now?"

"They've added a collection of macarons!"

"Seeing myself as a macaron connoisseur, I had to try these (the flavors are mango, strawberry, chocolate, blueberry, and pistachio). They weren't the greatest, as I thought the cookie portion should've been lighter and airier. Still, it's nice that Disney has introduced proper French macarons at the bakery - it's definitely a start (and I actually thought the pistachio one was very good). The container cost $10.33 before tax, which isn't too bad for macarons IMO. Plus, it would be easy to split a box."

"I enjoyed both of these additions at Les Halles - hopefully they'll expand the macaron selection soon!"
