I can't find what I originally wrote but let me
just say that Jiko is a total event for the senses! Awesome meal...great kids meals, my husband loved his filet and I can easily say that the short rib was no less than amazing...so tender and very flavorful! Our drinks were a makers mark and diet coke and I had two glasses of The Missing Virgin...an excellent red wine blend! We will definitely put Jiko on our return visit list, without hesitation.

OCTOBER & NOVEMBER GAME

First a couple of new items:

1) INTRODUCTORY PHOTOS - A few days prior to your trip, send me a photo of yourself to include with your trip announcement on the thread (usually done the day before your arrival at WDW or DLR) OR include a picture of yourself in your very first update from Disney World or Disneyland = 5 points
Include other members of your travel party in this introductory photo = 2 points per person

2) Give a quick dining synopsis with your final update (or soon after) telling us what your favorite and least favorite dining experiences were and why = minimum of 5 points awarded

3) Epcot Food & Wine Festival Points
- All food booth items (both beverage & food) = 1 pt. each
- Food/beverage demonstrations = 3 pts.
- All Special Events such as Sweet Sundays, Food & Wine Pairings, Party for the Senses, 3D Dessert Discovery, Signature Dining Events, Swan & Dolphin Food & Wine Classic (& any others I have forgotten) = 5 pts.

REMINDER: With all updates from the Food & Wine Festival, it is important to include your opinion. For the booth items, you can develop a numbered rating system or simply say it was not good, okay, very good, excellent, etc. However, any other details would be appreciated. For the demos and special events, I would definitely like more details please!!


NOTE: The F & W updates are also eligible for bonus points for signs, menus, including photos of yourself or other members of your travel party, and misc. other interesting photos.


DISNEYLAND & US UPDATE: All updates from Disneyland and Universal Studios (both QS and Full service) will be worth 3 points each for a meal, or 1 point for a snack per a location. These updates are also eligible for bonus points for sending signs, menus, pics of yourself or your dining companions, or misc. other interesting pictures.

October & November reporters will receive points for each and every update sent to me for posting on the Live Thread. The number of points which you will be awarded is based on how rare the featured location of your update is. For instance, those locations from which we have received little or no reports from will receive a minimum of 10 points.

All snack updates will be worth 1 point per location.

Also, Bonus Points will again be awarded for the following:
- First Update of the Day - the first update which is sent (by text or email) after 7:30 a.m. (ET) each day will receive 1 point.
- All menu pics will receive 1 pt. per menu
- Including a pic of you in an update (update must also include at least one food/beverage item) - 1 pt./per update
- Including a pic of another member of your travel party in an update (again update must also include food/beverage item) 1 pt./per person/per update
- Including a pic of at least one character at any character meals - 1 pt. per meal (including the Beast at Be our Guest and Chef Remy at Chefs de France)

Send a pic of the restaurant's name on a sign, menu cover, etc. to use as an intro to your update from that location and you will receive a bonus point. (I think it's a fun way to introduce an update and saves me some typing. )

Also, send pics from any DISmeets (whether planned or not) and you will receive 5 Bonus Points for each meeting.


Miscellaneous Bonus Points may be awarded for restaurant interior pics, buffet pics (but please make sure you are close enough to your subject to be able to identify the food and/or read the posted sign ), etc.

ATTN: All reporters who will be at Disney World for the opening weekend of the Food & Wine Festival (Sept. 27 - Sept. 29, or Sept. 26 if they again have a soft opening on Thursday).

Any food or beverage updates which you send from the F & W Fest booths on 9/26 - 9/29 will be worth double the normal points (see #3 in the previous post for normal point values). Also receive double points for sending updates from food/beverage demos or special events. PLEASE TRY TO SEND THESE IMMEDIATELY IF POSSIBLE, BUT AT LEAST BY 11:00 PM ON SUNDAY (9/29) TO RECEIVE DOUBLE POINTS.

I stumbled upon this thread earlier this month and I am very excited to participate on my upcoming trip. My name is Allison and my fiancee's name is Lee. We are going to WDW to celebrate our engagement and plan our WDW wedding!! We leave on Thursday morning (9/26) and are staying at POR for one night then heading over to the Poly. Here is the lineup:
