Great, we just checked into BLT, got a fourth-floor Magic Kingdom view with a view of the underside of the monorail, have a TV that doesn't work, and are hoping that bell services eventually turns up with our locker. Chef Mickey at 7:30. Hope that changes our cranky mood.

Complain NOW and they WILL fix it. They don't know your unhappy unless you tell them. Seriously please don't wait until you get home and then get really mad about the situation. Get it fixed now so you can enjoy your trip.

Oh no!!! So sorry to hear!

We are on the 6th floor with technically a lake view but can see the Magic Kingdom very easily. Right after we checked in someone came around to see that everything was in order (very impressed). As it was, the doors to the bathrooms were hanging up a bit and were difficult to open. She had a maintenance guy come right up and they're good as new. I would contact maintenance and also the front desk to see about a room change. I know it's a pain, but it can't hurt to ask and they will usually accommodate you.
Ironically ... we just came from Chef Mickey's ... I hope things work out for you!

Hi Pat ...
Thanks ... we will! For tonight, I think it will be the room ... but we will definitely make our way up one night.

Well Gang ... some more random thoughts ... :goodvibes

Bay Lake is really amazing ... very roomy ... nice high ceilings. Our experience has been terrific so far.

Had an impromptu meal at Le Cellier yesterday. We were able to walk in at 5:30 ... seemed strange ... I know it's popular. Well ... we were very disappointed. They had a lunch special for about $36. ... appetizer, entree and dessert. Cheddar soup great as always (and LOVE the pretzel bread!). But the server sort of "warned" us about the prime rib ... told us it's generally very fatty and that the chef likes grizzle. Well ... we said, "Ew!" and had chicken and the gnocchi dish. Totally under-whelmed and I apologize because I'm sure you can smell my breath while you are reading this. :) LOTS of garlic! Anyway ... didn't want to do the al la carte thing ... I just can't spend $33. for filet mignon and potatoes. :sad2:

Saw the Chinese acrobats in China (makes sense, eh?). Amazing!

Still love the movie in France.

Voices of Liberty STILL gives us a huge lump in our throats ... truly amazing!

MK ...

Of course this is just my opinion ... but the best place to watch the fireworks is back by Winnie the Pooh ... they go off right over head ... amazing!

SOOOOO nice to see the Electrical Light Parade again!!! :woohoo: I was so sad when it left and was never crazy about Spectromagic.

DW and I both got a bit of that heat rash on our ankles and shins ... annoying but we're dealing with it.

Well ... it's been brutally hot but finally rained tonight ... BIG storm ... we heard the monorail got shut down.

AK tomorrow ... we're meeting up with relatives from home ... I'll keep you posted!:goodvibes

May your trips come quickly and pass slowly!:thumbsup2

Talk to you soon ...

Dave

I think they need to adjust the rooms as to categories. Some Bay Lake rooms are much better than MK rooms.

We're settled in. The fourth floor turned out to be a bit of a blessing because we have a little rooflet right under the balcony. My hyper 8-year-old nephew immediately climbed onto that little ledge holding up the balcony rail and hung over the edge, giving his aunt a heart attack. At least I know that if he goes over the edge he won't splat.

The TV turned out not to be plugged it--the cord was plugged into the wall but wasn't plugged into the back of the TV.

I'm finding I like the decor more than I thought I would--it's actually pretty soothing. I like the nightlight effect in the kitchenette when you turn off the lights.

I do see what everyone was talking about with the gap at the door of the third bathroom--there's a good half inch gap where you can see into the bathroom when the door is closed. What where they thinking? Not really a problem for us, because the bathroom has been claimed by the aforementioned 8-year-old and he doesn't care.

The fireworks view from the room was underwhelming, mostly because the near distance is filled with parking-lot lights and car alarms going off. The reflection of the fireworks on the Contemporary was unexpectedly pretty, though. I'll not spend points on a Magic Kingdom view again.

I'm with you on that...can't believe more people don't congregate there to watch!

Hi Sammie ... I completely agree ... our "lake view" is amazing! I simply asked at check-in if a location on the side facing the MK was available. I feel so lucky! The fireworks from our living room last night were spectacular! And there is a live feed on the TV for the narration and music. :thumbsup2
AND ... the sunrise over the lake was breath-taking this morning ... the best of both worlds!

Hi Caren ... I'm glad your situation has improved! So sorry about the location ... I feel bad talking about how lucky we got. BUT ... very funny about your nephew! Good luck!
I completely agree about the decor and lighting ... I like it much more than I thought I would. I also agree about the bathroom doors ... we're dealing with it but locks would be nice.

We are off to the AK today ... I'm going to try EE with my DD once again. I did it a few years ago and it messed with my equilibrium. I can do all the coasters but the dark backward section did something to me ... wish me luck!

I'm also looking forward to Nemo! LOVE that show! :thumbsup2 I can't wait until it comes to Broadway ...

My DW and DS also love all the animals ... I do too BUT ... I could use a little more AC in the shops ... I love Disney's attention to detail ... I know it's supposed to be Africa, I get it ... now could I just have more AC pleeeease?? :confused3

Talk to you later ...

OMG!!! My 6 year old did this a few weeks ago on the 14th floor with no rooflet..

How he climed up he was really in no real danger of falling over, but enough to give me a fright and him a good talking too!!

This is one of the things I think I don't like about BLT -- the balcony on higher floors not being safe for small children. Not even thinking about trying to stay there with my grandchildren.

Glad everyone is having a great time. Enjoying the TR!

Hmmmmm ... let's see ... still loving Bay Lake ... holy moly! :cool1:

We went to the pool yesterday for the first time ... it's great! The lifeguards were SO nice and told us that, technically, the pool is open 24/7. The slide closes at 10 and there are no lifeguards on duty after that.

We had dinner at Ohana last night ... very enjoyable and were there in time to sit and watch the fireworks ... very cool! :thumbsup2 BUT ... we are still looking forward to seeing them from TOW. We visited there late last night. The only way to get up there is to go to the desk on the 1st floor and have a cast member use the "magic card" in the elevator and send you up.

It really is amazing up there and there were only a handful of people up there after the fireworks.

We were at AK yesterday and had a nice time ... it was a bit cooler thanks to some rain we've been having (finally!). Always love the Finding Nemo show. I spoke to some of the production people and they are still planning on bringing the full version to Broadway. You may already know, but the music was written by the husband and wife team that wrote "Avenue Q".

Well ... we're off to the studios today ... DD may or may not audition for Idol. She did it last year and got into a show ... it was a great experience. I think we have TOT and RnRC on the list. And, of course, Indiana Jones for my DS.

Talk at you later ...

Sounds like you are having a great trip, and it's always nice to read great experiences about BLT. :goodvibes

Thanks WEDway2002 for the trip report. I feel like I am there too.

When you say the best place to view the fireworks is at Winnie the Pooh, can you see the castle change colors as well? Please don't roll your eyes, I just keep thinking of the front of Winnie the Pooh and the wooden fence around it. Or is that gone? TIA.

Request a high floor. I, too, find it odd that they let the central rooms facing MK be conisdered MK view when the outter edges are standard view until the 6th floor.

Hoping to own here very soon.

We just got back on Sunday from our weeklong trip and both my husband and myself have itchy bumps on our ankles and top of our feet. Is that heat rash? I thought it was some kind of bug bite - we were at AKL after all - LOL! I hope it gets better soon because we are going back on an unexpected return trip next Thursday! :cool1: Another weird thing was the week we were there not 1 drop of rain! My dd was praying for a little rain to cool off in :rotfl:!

Great report and glad you are loving BLT - we are planning on going next year - we could not get in on 8 days notice (haha) so SSR it is!
