Coming from the Great White North in August, what are we thinking? We're back!

On our way out of the dino area.

After we were done on Triceratops Spin we met up with the EE crew. Guess who was crying and unhappy because the ride was too scary? You are right if you guessed Jasmine, she has always had a problem with coasters. Ha ha, just kidding, it was dd8. . She had done EE once on our last visit and cried. She was really scared then. I thought this time since she was older and there were more of us riding she would enjoy it. Dh had never ridden EE before and he really enjoyed. I think it’s just a bit too fast for dd8 and she doesn’t like the Yeti, although that’s all she talks about when it’s done. Dh had to buy her the round stuffed Yeti when they were done to make her feel better. It’s very cute.

We then headed over to Kali River Rapids. I had never been there before. Dh decided he would be the photographer on the bridge and the rest of us would ride. When they say you will get wet they aren’t kidding. I think this would be a great ride on a really hot day. When we got to the entrance a CM gave dd4 a card to wear around her neck and hand in when we got to the front of the ride. The CM there scanned it as well. I think it has something to do with wait times because it’s scanned just as you enter the standby line and then scanned again just as you get to the front of the line. She thought she was pretty special because the CM made her feel like that. It was starting to spit a bit and we got soaked as expected on the ride. I was nervous on the ride because I didn’t know what to expect. I was expecting a huge drop and I hate being backwards going down a drop but it wasn’t that bad. I really enjoyed it and would highly recommend the ride. The kids loved it. They got less wet than us but still wet and we had such a great time. The people on the raft with us had been allowed to stay on before we got on because there was no lineup. When we came to the end there was a line up so we got off and met up with dh. He laughed at our soaking wetness.

We decided to head over to Dinosaur but we decided to stop for a Chai Freeze at the tea company. We had read how great they were and they didn’t disappoint. It was awfully sweet and cinnamon flavored but good. I could have used a smaller size and perhaps if it was hotter it would have been better. We weren’t complaining because of the cooler wet weather. We had our ponchos with us and the crowds seemed quite a bit less today because of the weather. We were all very happy campers! When we got to Dinosaur the standby line was 40 min. We decided to chance it and stood in line. It turned out to be only 15-20 min wait so we were very happy.

As we were standing in line neither of my girls had been on this ride before and dd8 was nervous. She really doesn’t like the unexpected. She asked if it was like a roller coaster and I said no and then she asked if you went upside down. Now she asked this because now that she can READ she was reading the warning signs about sudden drops and turns. I, of course said “no we don’t go upside down” and then QoaT says “well except for that loop!” The look on dd8’s face was priceless! I tell you, I’m going to get QoaT’s back one of these days. Do you see what I have to deal with Hypermommy? It’s her not me. Now that I have that cleared up….. Dd8 was beside herself by the time we got to the ride vehicle. Neither girl saw any of the ride because they each had their heads buried in my or dh’s arm for the entire ride. We had to buy the picture because it’s so funny. It was absolutely pouring when we came out and we waited a bit but then went on TS again twice. Jasmine and dd8 went over to Primeval Whirl and then we headed back to use some of our Fp’s for EE. It meant Dh and I and Jasmine went twice back to back. Well apparently doing that ride back to back is only for young people! I got so nauseated later and could hardly ride anything. I think it’s the backwards in the dark that did me in. I was quite disappointed because I love that ride. One time we rode we were in the 2nd row and that was so neat being able to look all around when you stop before you go backwards. I would highly recommend that seat.
By this point we were all very hungry so we thought we would try Yak and Yeti for CS. It was a great thought except it was still raining and all the tables were wet and it just wasn’t going to work. We were disappointed but we went with plan b and found an indoor CS restaurant. Do you think I can remember the name? No. Oh well it was dry and not busy at all. We headed back to the hotel after that. I slept after some meds for my nausea.

Waiting for the bus.

Still waiting for the bus. Did I mention how long it took for this bus. We must have waited 30 minutes. We were all wet and cold and tired so our patience level was at an all time low. I now it doesn't look like that in these pictures.

Tonight is Coral Reef.

Oh mini montana was so close to being able to go on EE.

She looks like she took the news well though.:thumbsup2

She was pretty close to being able to ride. That wasn't the only ride she almost got to ride. I thought about making her wear higher shoes but I think EE is just a bit too fast for her , for her age and I hold on with both hands so it's not like I could hold her:scared1: We had told her before we even got on the plane that there would be some rides she wouldn't be able to do and some she could. She knew which ones were iffy and we had a back up plan for this day as well so she got to do something fun too and everyone was happy.

Great update Peg! I just love the photo of Mini Montana in the car after your spins on the Tricetops! She looks so adorable!

Glad to hear your business is up and running! That is awesome! Would you mind pm'ing me the details of your business please?

Thanks, Suz

Great update Peg. Your pictures are great. Sounds like your backup plan for dd4 worked well.:)

Nan Nan Nan Boo Ba to Hypermommy because I got my PM first

Thhhhhhffffppppppttttttttttt!!!!! :rotfl2:

soooo close to the exit you could taste it ......this annoying teenage boy dresses up with a white face and blood, you get the drift, walks by us and dd8 is trying to hide behind me and he grabs and yells boo:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: We were so close to the exit:sad2:

LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL Yeah, teenaged boys are truly a pain in the butt, aren't they? Trust me!!! LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

BTW, congrats on your first quote. Did it turn into a booking?

I'm betting that DD8 is starting her first bestseller. A mommy dearest type novel. :rolleyes2

Now that's a book I'll buy!!! In hardcover!!!!!!!! It'd be great to finally have the REAL story!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

Hey, you're getting as bad as Hypermommy:laughing:

Ahhhh... I can see my evil influence is spreading!

Just a couple of things more and then I really have to go get to work on this kit. I'm loving all the pictures but that last one in post 259 (the really closeup of MiniMontana) was really a great shot!!!

And :rotfl2: :rotfl2: at QOAT in Dinosaur! Yep, I'd have said the same thing. Come to think of it, so would you had you thought of it quickly enough! C'mon... you know you would!!!

So when is QOAT going to grace her audience again? Do we have to endure some Vatican-like red tape to get an audience with her? :rotfl2:

Teenage boys, yeah they aren't on my top ten list right now!
Unfortunately my quote hasn't turned into a booking and I've even left two messages with price adjustments, especially when they put out the 4 plus 3 free deal.

So the big news is Jasmine got a laptop for her birthday and queen spent an hour composing a post and she lost it all:scared1: She was none too happy. I don't think she's tried again since but I did tell her to do her post in word and then cut and paste

We haven’t been here for a few years and we were so looking forward to it. We were seated almost right away. We were on the second tier facing the glass of the aquarium.

DSC02947.jpg

It was very busy. Queen and I ordered the Octopus Juice. This is a Pina Colada made with Chambord. It is yummy! The only thing about ordering these drinks is they are very filling and make eating your dinner a challenge.

DSC02948.jpg

Can't remember what dh had to drink, something fruity.

Is that rum mommy?
DSC02950.jpg

I ordered the pork chop and it was huge and delicious!

During dinner we noticed lots of divers in the tank and they were coming by the glass and waving to everyone. It was a tour of divers and they looked like they were having a great time. I f only I had my certification.....but then there are sharks in that tank! I hope they are well fed. Lol

We were having so much fun watching the divers and trying to take pictures of them during dinner. At one point we saw a diver come over to the glass and hold up a sign. We couldn’t see what the sign said but we did notice a fellow get down on one knee around that time so we think it was a proposal. Man I wish we were closer. How fun would that be to see it up close? I hope she said yes!

DSC02957.jpg

We had dessert, of course. Queen had a parfait of alcoholic mousse and she said she has a picture of the same dessert from last year and it was twice as full in the glass. Cutbacks everywhere! But really does it have to be dessert?

We finished up and went on Spaceship Earth on our way out. I love that restaurant, did I mention that? We had a blast with the changes to Spaceship Earth and Mini Montana tried hitting Japanese for the language of choice. Luckily dh was able to change it back to English. Jasmine picked Russia for where she lived. We teased her about that for a long time, not knowing where Canada is on a map, honestly!?

We came out of Spaceship Earth and could not find our stroller anywhere! Someone had moved it away from Spaceship Earth and we had to walk near Innoventions to find it. I don’t know why they moved it in the first place, we are used to them moving strollers but someone moved it to a completely different area of the park! We then headed home for the night.

Poor Queen losing her post .... tell me, Peg, how'd you do it? How'd you make her lose her post so she wouldn't get on here and tell us what was REALLY going on? :rotfl2:

Oh, and thanks for the tree! I know, I haven't gotten it in my sig yet but I will and I wanted you to know I wasn't ignoring you... just running out of time. Been working on a mega kit that's gonna hit the stores tomorrow. Which reminds me... need to get it loaded. But must finish reading Peg's posts first. Hey, some things are important!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: @ bunny butt! You get to come clean the coffee off my screen now!!!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: @ "is that rum mommy" -- yeah, that's what that little princess needs is rum. Sure! Then she'd be just about half as crazy as her momma!

Ahhhhhhhh, the food porn! Wait a minute... y'all go to a restaurant themed around the Living Seas (no matter what they call it now) and you order pork chops and steak? What are y'all, nuts???? Heck you could have had a great time with the girl's heads ... forget finding Nemo... i'm eating Nemo!!! (remember, I'm not a nice person :cool1: )

That Jasmine is so photogenic... Have y'all thought about getting her into modeling?

Awwww... I just love the HSM cheerleader outfit on mini! Too cute!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for including pics of the SE screen. Been wondering about that and dying to experience it. And LOL at Jas for picking Russia. I hope you continue to raz her about that! :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

I had the "alcoholic mousse" too. It was my favorite desert. I'm sure mine was taller in the glass than Queens. Maybe you just hit a bad night.

Like hypermommy says

You have got to have seafood. I guess being DVC members now you figured you'd be there so often you could try everything on the menu.

Thanks for the tree. Haven't figured out how to get it inserted yet. My computer keeps shutting down when I open it up.

Congrats on booking number 1. How's number 2 shaping up. Any other potential clients out there yet?

I'm working on the day we bumped into each other in my trip report now. You might have to pop in to post the picture cause I'm dying to see it!

Ok you, what are kit are you putting in the store. Is it your scrapping?

You're welcome for the tree. I was wondering where you've been lately.

How come you didn't ask when I was going to get into modeling. I'm crushed:sad2:

I am fairly certain she will not model because I want her to feel good about herself and not eat kleenex to feel full:scared1: She is one beautiful girl, got to beat the boys back with a BIG stick:rotfl2:

DD8 was responsible for the bunny butt comment. She kept saying that the whole time we were gone.

I had matching cheer outfits for them both but dd8 didn't like her tummy showing.

I like seafood but wasn't in the mood that night.

Ok so I'm either seeing things or you are but I haven't had any bookings yet. I'm trying to get my name out to friends and school but no bites yet.

I will happily post that picture and I will be posting it here too. We look fabulous of course!

Sorry about the tree. I'm so proud I got it to work for me because I am so computer illiterate:woohoo: I'm actually taking a computer course.

I am trying to get an update up this weekend. We went to the Santa Claus parade last night and then the Moose game(Our AHL hockey team) and they won. I was so unimpressed with a lot of parents. If you thought it was bad standing for a parade at Disney, this city has nothing on that for rudeness:sad2: We got there about 4:10 and the parade wasn't starting until 5. We got a prime spot right at the road but on the sidewalk. Well by the time the parade reached us about 5:20 or so this lady(and I use the term loosely) pulls her kid in her stroller right up in front of dd4 and says "sorry but the parade is starting" I was speechless:eek: There were tons of other parents that let their kids stand out on the road and block everyone's view and I couldn't believe how hard it was for the big rigs to get down the street. I really couldn't believe no one was run over:scared1: I was so proud of our girls because they wanted to be out on the street because people were passing out candy but we wouldn't let them. I believe we said, "no you can't go out there because it's too dangerous!" and when they replied "but why are all those other kids out there" we replied "because their parents are being very irresponsible!" I was not impressed at all. The girls did a great job of listening to us without a fuss. It's so nice to be able to take our kids out and they behave well. We did a lot of pre-work with explaining what our expectations of their behaviour was to be. We find that seems to be the best approach for us anyway. There are still bad days but for the most part when we have done our part the girls do their part and everyone is happy(thank goodness):rotfl2:

Today is a Magic Kingdom day! We love MK. Well we love WDW in general, who am I kidding?
We were there at opening. Now I believe this is where I need to discuss rope drop. I admire all of you who go for rope drop but I just couldn’t do it. We tried and then we thought “we are going to stand around waiting and waiting and we could be home in bed for 30 more minutes”. Again, I repeat, I admire all of you who do this but please tell me again the rational for this? I like my bed too much and we had no trouble getting on rides when we got there for opening.

Well let’s move on shall we? We headed straight to Buzz and then to Space Mountain but SM was closed down. Jasmine was disappointed. We went and saw Stitch instead. That’s always a highlight! Our kids love stitch. It’s the one character that neither child was afraid of when they were little. They were scared of Baloo but not an alien with claws and big teeth. I don’t get it? Dd8 and dd4 did Buzz again. It’s such a great ride.

We headed to the Laugh Floor. Man that’s a fun attraction, especially if you have people that interact when the camera is on them.

We then moved to FP Peter Pan, headed to Splash Mtn.

I love this picture, you can see the water droplets on her and she looks so happy.
DSC02982.jpg

DSC02983.jpg

And DD8 and dh did BTMR. She loves that ride. Then we all headed to BTMR as a group and it was busy. There was a very long line but it was moving fairly steadily and had a chance to take several pictures from the queue. Just before we get to the loading area guess who has to use the facilities? Well it wasn’t me and it’s a good thing she’s so cute! I told her she had to hold it because I wasn’t walking backwards through all those people! I could see the train! When we got to the loading CM I asked him where the washroom was... well actually I said “she has to ___ where can we go? He told us we had to walk right through the train when it pulled up to load and exit to find the restrooms in Frontierland. There was a couple of young ladies waiting behind us to load so I told them they would be able to get on right way because we were walking right through. They were pretty happy to hear that! So off we head as I dragging her along to the bathroom. She’s yelling “slow down mommy” and I’m replying “no, I don’t have a spare change of clothes for you!”

These are all the lovely pictures I took whilke we waited in line.

DSC02988.jpg

We made it to the bathroom and all was well. Except now she wants to get back in line for BTMR! NO, NO, NO! She was upset ( by this I mean MAJOR MELTDOWN) but I explained we would do it again when we came back because we weren’t finished with MK. She wasn’t too happy but we were heading to the Wonderland Tea Party in a bit so that seemed to satisfy her for now. Actually I can’t remember exactly what I said but I’m sure it resembled something like “if you don’t stop now there will be no pool tomorrow and no Tea Party today!” It was 1130 and the Tea Party was at 1:30. We wandered through the stores to kill some time and really who doesn’t love shopping? I wish I could say what I bought but I can’t. Of course the girls would have bought everything in sight but sadly that was not to be.

I'll continue later with the Tea Party.
