Comfort of pull out "couch" beds anywhere (or at Poly studio)

Tell me how comfortable are the pull out couch beds at the Poly studio, BLT, or anywhere really with a pull out couch bed? And for possibly 8 nights? Ok for a kid, not ok for an adult? I always associate them with "gross" as in what's hiding in there. How gross or not are they?

The new ones at WDW do not have a bar that makes them a bit more comfortable than pull out beds can be. That said, I do not find them very comfortable personally and would much prefer to sleep on a real bed. That is one reason we don't do DVC, we all want a real bed (or at least a daybed like in the GF, Poly or CR).

YMMV.

Oh I didn't realize that about the DVC. So I guess that's out for me too, must have real beds!

Typically, in a studio in DVC you get one queen bed with one pull out queen sofa and one pull down smaller bed for a small child. Note: You can get two beds in OKW in a studio and in the two bedroom DVC's anywhere. Even the Poly bungalows only have two real beds.

We usually want two or three real beds. (not pulled out, blown up, unfolded or pulled down). A daybed is acceptable for one small person.

My sister stayed with me at a Poly studio a couple years ago and found the pull out sofa bed to be "acceptable enough for a few days". If she'd been joining me for my full 7-day stay, I probably would've looked for a room that had two real beds (or used that as an excuse to book the royal rooms at Port Orleans again).

Studios at OKW have 2 real beds. All of the other DVC studios have a queen bed and sleeper sofa. Some DVC studios, not all of them, have the fold down bed that is smaller than a twin bed.

I'm a smallish woman and have slept on the pull out bed in the one bedroom at AKV and at BWV studio. I didn't think they were that bad. We were doing split stays with 2 nights at AKV and 4 nights at BWV. My son and then wife got the bedroom in AKV and the bed at the studio. I slept on them almost as well as I do a bed in a regular room but I never sleep all night so there is that.

The DVC sleeper sofas are three section pads on a flat surface. The pads are memory foam. If you are smaller, they aren't too bad. If you are a full sized adult, you might very well find them awful. I find them awful.

Dh and I slept on one at the Fort Wilderness cabins for 6 nights last January for marathon weekend. We are both adults; I am a 5'3" female and Dh is just under 6 feet. I was doing the Dopey challenge, which meant I had to wake up at 3 am each morning to be out for a race, so comfortable sleep was important.

I felt like the sofa bed was fine. My main issue with it was just the inconvenience of having to pull it out and set up each night for sleep, and to put it away each morning so we still had a sofa for the living area.

Yeah, not interested in doing that. Glad I asked, I will not consider a resort room like this. Thanks all!

We usually take an egg crate foam pad with us for whomever sleeps on the sofa bed. I pack it in a vacuum bag (from Dollar Tree) so it fits easily into a suitcase, then leave it in the room when we come home. DH bought a roll of the foam padding when a local upholsterer was going out of business, cheaply, so I don't mind leaving it behind. DD says it makes a world of difference!

I stayed at AKV and I thought it was terrible. We even got a mattress topper from housekeeping and it was still awful. Luckily, after a day at Disney I was exhausted enough to deal with it but I wouldn’t want to do it again
