We are back from our trip. Spent 2 nights at the Comfort Suites on Turkey Lake Rd. (for our Sea World days) for $33.00 per night via Hotwire. I still have to mail in my rebate form for the $10 back and will do that soon.
The hotel was great for the cost! Our room did face I-4, but we ran the air conditioner on vent only all night, so the fan noise blocked out the traffic sounds completely.
The pool was great and had a cute tiki bar there. We ordered hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner from the tiki bar on our first night. There was a pull-out couch bed that DD slept on. I don't know if I'd call the room a "suite" even though it was a tad bigger than a regular hotel room. It was longer but narrower. The room was clean though and the beds were pretty comfortable.
The free breakfast was great! There were several waffle machines with mix ready to go, so the kids made their own waffles. There was fruit (whole oranges, apples, grapefruit), doughnuts, coffee cake, three different kinds of cold cereal, oatmeal, hard-boiled eggs, milk, juices, bagels, bread (with toasters), and a couple of different juice machines. On Sunday morning there were also scrambled eggs, bacon, and omelettes. I'd say to get to the breakfast BEFORE 8:15 if you can. It starts to get really busy after that and the selections go down. The ladies there did their best to keep it stocked but so many people started coming at once that they couldn't keep up with the demand.
Oh, there's also free shuttles to Sea World and Universal.
Near the front desk there is a Sea World counter with a bunch of coupon cards for B1G1 Free meals and discounts at places like TGI Fridays, Buca de Peppo, and Ci-Ci's pizza. Just down the road was a Super Wal-Mart and various restaurants.
I would definitely stay there again. Not the best place in the world, but a really great value for the price and free breakfast to boot.
