has anyone stayed at the comfort inn lake buena vista?
What did you think? was it close enough to the parks? was the free breakfast good? what about the shuttle to the parks?
Were there restaurants next door to go to?
thanks!
I was there for just two nights in October (before a scheduled stay at WL). I probably wouldn't return to CILBV, but here's what I have to say about it:
1. Proximity to the parks, particularly EPCOT area and Seaworld was really good. We were doing SeaWorld at this particular time, so I can't answer your question about the shuttles.
2. Room was decent sized and fairly clean. I didn't really have any issues with cleanliness, except when I went to take a shower, there was a mysterious lump under the surface of the shower floor.
3. My BIGGEST complaint was the highway noise from I-4. During the afternoon, it was hardly noticeable. But when night fell and I was trying to sleep, it was a constant vroom and rumble of trucks. That and the a/c which cycled on and off CONSTANTLY through the night. DH tried turning it off, but then it got too HOT to sleep. The kids slept just fine, but both DH and I spent two sleepless night. That said, there is a highway side (which we were on) and a parking lot side, which is reportedly much quieter. If I could be guaranteed a parking lot "view" room, I might return to this hotel for a pre-Disney adventure. But I'm a spoiled Disney resort girl now...I don't think I could go to Disney without staying "on property".
4. The breakfast was not bad. Not fabulous, but nobody expects fabulous for free, I guess. They had fresh fruit and a pour-your-own waffle station. I don't remember much else, but I feel sure they had the standard oatmeal/grits/scrambled eggs, etc.
5. There were a pretty good number of restaurants in the area. I really wanted to try Chevy's. We went over to the Boardwalk area and ate at the ESPN club, which was a LOT of fun. I highly recommend the Boardwalk area no matter WHERE you stay.
I hope this answers your question.
