We are going down to Florida for Christmas this year. When we fly in, we are staying with a friend of mine, who lives in the Mount Dora area. On Friday, December 21, we plan on going to the Magic Kingdom for the day, then on Saturday, we are driving down to my mom's house in Miami for a few days before coming back to the Disney area again (at which point I have the Coronado Springs Resort already booked and paid for).

Instead of going back north to my friends house on that Friday night, hubby suggested I find a hotel by Disney that would be easy to grab the Interstate and Turnpike from, so we can head south first thing Sat morning. Yesterday, I found a deal on Travelzoo for the Comfort Inn at Lake Buena Vista for $44 a night with taxes, plus a $25 food and beverage credit. I thought it was a scam, but it was really and honestly true.

Does anyone have any feedback on this hotel? I realize that its only for one night and I'm sure we can deal with it if its not a the greatest hotel, but I just don't want it to be a rat infested, roach hotel room. Please, please, please, tell me its not.

You'll find many mixed reviews on this hotel, but I think it's fine for 1 or 2 nights. I stay there quite a bit, the most recent being in Sept. and will be there for 2 nights in Dec. The rooms are old and worn, but they've always been clean for me. That's why I keep coming back - oh, and also the cheap rates!!!

I agree, not bad at all for the price, and they have a very good location. The "free" breakfast stinks, but the pay buffet looked nice, so that moght work with your credit.

Let us know how you like it. We just booked a kidsuite there for 2 nights in Feb., I got the travelzoo rate too with the $25 credit so I couldn't pass it up.

We have stayed there several times, with October being our most recent stay. That's when the rate was only $30 a night, and you can't beat that price!! For some reason though, they gave us a Family Suite. We just ended up putting our suitcases on the bunk beds, it worked out nice. We went down to the pool every afternoon, and everyone was super friendly. The rooms were nothing special, but they were clean, and we only use the room to shower and sleep when we are in Disney. We had a rental car, and driving to the parks is a breeze!! I would definitely recommend this hotel if you're just looking for a place to shower, sleep, and maybe lounge by the pool!!

We stayed here last Xmas, I did review it at the time, if you search you might find it.
Many people have no problems here, we did, the room was not cleaned for days, bits on the floor were left, layer of dust on the safe I wrote my name in. Nice big roach in my shoe one day.
I believe it was the time of year, Xmas thru New Year they did not have enough staff, every room was taken and turning people away.
Thankfully we only paid $40/night incl all fees and taxes.
I would say ask for an upper floor room so bugs dont get in so easy and a room overlooking parking lot as some people have problems sleeping with noise form I4.

I know its pretty expensive for the holiday time period. I will be going down for NYE! Stayed there one night last year. Was there for less than 24hrs paid around $30, somewhere to sleep. I have to say it was pretty disgusting!! Room was rundown and did not feel clean. Keep looking, but do not expect much.
