Come to the Dark Side...We Have Cookies...(updates 4/3)

Unfortunately, the trend didn't continue. Last night was not a good night for JJ. Twice I was woken up by him having seizures. Each time it was because he was too hot. Ended up having to take blankets away from him and taking off his shirt to keep him cooler. It's only 75 in the house.

Oooooh, what really big lego is he wanting? That's good to have incentive for good behavior.

Too bad they copy, that's got to be hard at times.

:( I'm sorry to hear that he had 2 last night. Do you think having a fan going would help with keeping him cooler too just in case he were to pull a blanket up and over himself?

He hasn't really said. Just a really, really big lego set!! I don't think he even knows what he wants. :rotfl2:

It's very hard! Especially since James (2 year old) doesn't quite understand all the right and wrong behavior yet but both Jeremy and Sarah do.

I am sorry to hear about JJ's night. I hope that it straightens out. I am praying for you all.

There is a ceiling fan in each of the bedrooms. He doesn't like the feeling of wind though. Last night I let him only have a sheet, no blankets. I also set our airconditioner to keep the house a few degrees cooler.

Does he get the catalog in the mail? JJ studies that in and out. Though we haven't received one in a long time.

You have your hands full with the three. I'm sure there is never a dull moment!

Thanks, appreciate the prayer. Last night was a good night! He started acting like himself around supper time. Most of the day he laid on the couch. But after supper he was sitting on the floor playing with his toys.

I always loved the "wish book" as a little girl. I would send hours just looking at it. I would look from cover to cover until it was all torn up from wear. When I was a kid they used to sell picture books at the Disney parks and I would get one every time we visited. I would wear them out too. I got sent one last year because of the AP and I haven't even looked at. Partly because of being depressed over the lost trip and partly because of knowing there wasn't a trip in the plans. I think I will read it tonight.

I am glad that by suppertime he was better. It takes so much out of him and the rest of you too. I pray that he stays seizure free.

I understand the ceiling fan issue. My DH hates when I put ours on too when sleeping. Hopefully the a/c continues to help. I'm glad that he did start to feel better.

We get them every now and then and he does love to sit and look at them but then if his brother get's his hands on it I end up having to throw it away because he'll rip it up.

No there is never a dull moment!! I get tired just sitting and watching them some days!! :rotfl:

Have you ever been to the F&G Festival? They need a run, huh?

Yes, but this is the first year that they have had the food booths. The phm almost takes place during it... it would be fun if they did something for it though.. .kinda like they have the Wine and Dine half marathon during F&W.
Even with the funky stuff going on from the brand switch, he still is doing ok. He knows he's a little off.

I am so sorry he is going through this. Ya know... I take a medication to help regulate my insulin...and the generic switched its coating. I was amazed at what havoc that caused for me... You would think generic... name brand... it should all be standard!

The rest area of Rupunzel is so cute. When we were there, it wasn't opened. On our very last day we looked up near HM and saw her tower. I was  totall awe!!! I can't wait to see it in person.

I was highly impressed by the legend of Jack Sparrow. I agree though...short show...too long of a wait. I was expecting something like what they had for the naria movie in there. What a nice surprise. :thumbsup2

Your character meets with Meeko and Belle look like they were awesome! :goodvibes

Oh yeah, me too. We have some picture books too. That's great that you got one. I'm so sorry you lost out on that trip. Hopefully in the future things will get back to "normal" and you can start planning again. It's always adjusting to that new normal. Did you get a chance to look at it last night? How was it?

For some reason we get 2 of the Lego catalogs when they come. Maybe one comes from the kids club and the other from the VIP club?

We had to keep our older son's important to him stuff in his bedroom when JJ was younger. Or he'd really do a number on it too.

Last night he had a very small one, low intensity and only lasted seconds. He must have had some sense of euphoria with the partial seizure last night. He was smiling ear to ear while his hands were tremoring. And that left hand was tight fisted again.

Yes, sugar coating wouldn't help, huh?

The Rapunzel are is much more impressive in person than in pictures.

Was your room packed with people when you saw it? I don't know how the people in the middle saw anything. Ours was a packed like sardines show. Of course, it was the day before Easter.

Yes, the character meets were fun. I know he'll want to do this again.

Last night we went to the scene shop to paint and make scenery for JJ's upcoming play.

It was packed when we went in for the show. Our wait was like 45 minutes... But we were up near the from and jack almost seemed to come right out to us. I was impressive.

We get 2 at times too. I think your right about one being the kids club and one the VIP club because they are different.

Unfortunately it's hard for Jeremy to have some personal space due to us being in a 2 bedroom condo. But we did turn the closet in the kids bedroom into an area for Jeremy. It's a large closet so they didn't lose any bedroom space.

Poor JJ!

Looks like a fun time getting things ready for the next show.

No. I never looked at it last night. I am promising myself that I will this weekend.

I think it's great that they get to help make the scenery. It makes all of the play theirs.

Sorry to hear JJ is having more seizures. That is wonderful that he was able to help with the scenery!

Cool. We were in the front.

Great pictures!

Wow, a 2 br condo with 5 people.

The kids really enjoyed themselves painting. JJ was so excited that he got to use a "bigboy" tool too, electric screw driver.

Hope you enjoy the book. Yes, and they did a great job. I'll be interested to see what else is added to the scenery from the Scene Shop. It was hectic for the person in charge. He had to fly around from group to group. He also learned about having to be specific in his requests and not to leave out a single step. For example, he told JJ to put the roller down, but didn't tell him where. JJ was lost. He told the adults to put the screw into the leg of the railing, but he neglected to tell them they had to hold the electric screw driver vertical. The screws almost went in every which way but loose.

Sorry to hear JJ is having more seizures. That is wonderful that he was able to help with the scenery!

Jackie

Thankfully he hasn't had any since that night.

Yeah the plan was to buy and live here for 5 years (we bought in Feb 2006, before kids). Well just a few short months later the market took a huge drop and we've been stuck ever since. Can't rent for cheaper than what we are paying so we just deal with it for now. Plus we're in a really great school district so I don't complain too much!!

That's awesome that he got to use the "bigboy" tools!!

Great news! Hopefully it stays that way.

That's good that you are in a great school district. That can make all the difference in the world.

JJ had another good night.

Yesterday was JJ's Buddy Ball. The weather cooperated and it was a high of 76 yesterday. That meant that Buddy Ball being first thing in the morning was nice and cool! I had to wear a jacket because just sitting there and not being active it felt cool.

JJ played a great game. They give the kids 9 pitches before bringing out the T. This game he hit the ball each time he was up to bat! The two games before that, he missed all 9 balls. So hitting them built up his confidence to play. He had a great buddy who was a JV player. Usually they get high school buddies.

My parents arrive TOMORROW! Dad is having problems with his tooth, so they are trying to get him to the dentist tomorrow BEFORE they have to head out. I have butterflies in my stomach just thinking about their timing and the fact that dad will have to get a pat down since he has a metal aneuryism clamp in his brain. Also a bit apprehensive about how he will be cognitively. This is their third time EVER flying. Last time was in the 90's. Alot has changed since then. Dad said he can't take off his shoes if there's no where to sit. He will be 79 years old in a few days. Sometimes his thoughts get mixed up, he's had a few strokes and brain surgery in the last 3 years. Last two times I saw him, he was in the hospital. So praying that this time he will be healthy and feeling great, with NO trips to the hospital!

Poor Dad has had quite a week. Last Monday he went to 2 different doctors at opposite ends of town. One was an ENT who checked out his ear because he was complaining it hurt. Turned out he has dry skin in his ear. They tested his ear for pressure and he as fine so that helped their fear about his ears and flying. Then it was off to the eye doctor where he complained that it felt there was something crawling around his eye. Turns out it was a crystal of some sort and the eye doctor was able to remove it with a tool, a flushing didn't work. Then Saturday he began to complain about the tooth. Maybe that's why his ear hurt? Mom made a call to the dentist and they will squeeze him in tomorrow morning and the dentist is aware of his flight that day.

Grumpy has finals soon so he is in the throngs of testing and finishing projects.

Not sure how much I will be able to get online with everything going on the next 3 weeks here. It's good that once they leave, they will be getting company. Another set of grandkids and great-grandkids are going to visit them for a weekend and we'll have SWW to look forward to. Hopefully we will get my parents to Sea World, DTD, and Epcot as they requested. In between, is JJ's homeschool showcase, buddy ball, play practice, hip hop and voice lessons. I'm glad they will get to see what all he does. They had the opportunity to be with Grumpy while he was growing up. They spent months here with us. I'm so glad he had all that quality time with them from little on up. JJ had the first 5 years of his life with them too. Ok I'm rambling, so off I go.

Hi! Remember me? I haven't been Dis'ing the last few months, and have slowly been trying to catch up, TR by TR. Today it was yours! Loving all your pictures, especially those from F&G this year. I so miss being able to drive over.

Glad you were able to figure out the issue with Anakin's meds. Never thought about different lots and different manufacturers making a difference, but it does make sense.

I think helping out those no longer able to care for their children with special needs is a great charity. Reading about it I thought I would share a story with you. If you remember, I work at Kohls in the men's department. It was a truck day, which means we are incredibly busy trying to get all the new merchandise on the floor. A call comes in for men's and I grabbed it. The lady on the other end is just rattling things off to me about a certain type of wind pant made in Pakistan. Yes, she was looking for a certain pant made in another country. First thought was I don't have time for this. I found what she was looking for, but it wasn't made in Pakistan, but I knew it was the same. I tried to tell her this and she kept going on about Pakistan. I was getting agitated when something told me to keep going. At this point she started discribing her son that was in his 30's and how he only wears these pants and he needs them in green. I knew right then what she was dealing with and thought it was fortunate she got me, since I understand a little of what she was going through. She then explained how he was eating her out of house of home and I explained I understood, I had a son that was very taste sensitve, but he wouldn't eat anything. This seemed to calm her down, that the person on the other end of the phone understood what she was going through. We then had a nice little chat and I explained that even though we didn't have the green pants and weren't made in Pakistan, I was sure they were what she was looking for and they should be available at other stores that were closer to her. One of those moments where I had a tear in my eye by the time I hung up. But, it left me wondering if there were services for those that are older and with him being older, had he ever had the services that our children receive. And what happens when something happens to her. And the way our government is going, these parents aren't going to be able to expect help that way.

Hope you have a wonderful visit with you folks and looking forward to hearing about SWW since we won't be able to make it.

Hope your dad's visit to the Dentist isn't to serious. Last time I complained about tooth pain I found out I had a cracked tooth and need a root canal. Now that wasn't fun to go back to work with!!

Have a great time with your parent's. I'm sure JJ is going to love all the time with them!! Good thoughts to no Dr.'s visits while they are there!! :wizard:

Of course, I remember you! Thanks for sharing your story. I call that a divine appointment, she called at just the right time and got just the right person!

Wish you could make SWW. Have you decided about Mickyard? Did I read right that there is 2 car shows? One at CSR and one at the race track? Dh's stang is not in good shape these days. Needs some work and he just doesn't have the time.

I hope and pray so too, especially that they make their flight. The airport is about an hour and a half away. The dentist is opposite of their house, and they have to go home in between because my aunt and uncle are taking them to the airport. I'm sure Mom's stress levels are going to be up today. Hopefully the excitement of seeing us and the kids will counter balance it.

The tooth that is bothering him already has a crown.

JJ is sooooo excited they are coming. He calls my mom several times a day.
