Come to the Dark Side...4 Weekends of Fun with the Force(Updated 11/12)

I totally know what you mean about certain things bringing out the worst in people. Jedi training signup during SWW can be challanging. Honestly, there is so much at SWW that is challanging that I think could be changed for the better.

It is great that the man behind you in JTA line would not let people pass. That is the way it should be. The picture of Chewy is awesome. I hope JJ made his class.

I agree, there are so many things at SWW that could stand to be changed. In particular, the queue into the Premiere Theater has proven to be our biggest challenge.

That was nice of the man. I figured no matter what JJ got a spot at some time, so I wasn't too worried of everyone that had pushed ahead. My only concern was a time conflicting with the FP to James Arnold Taylor.

sounds a bit chaotic for sure!

Great picture of JJ and Chewy!!!

It's more than a bit chaotic. More reminiscent of Survivor...the fastest, strongest, pushiest gets the early shows. Seriously in some of the people, we couldn't help but wonder where humanity went? :confused3

Thanks! We just love Chewbacca!

Using the Force

I was concerned about the delayed start of the first group. I asked a cm what would happen if we miss the Celebrity M&G time because of the delay. A manager told me not to worry. She said they were very good at catching up to the times after a delay. So we put that thought way back on the back burner and concentrated on JJ's JTA.

The kids were asked to line up. I'm not sure what was so difficult about this, but for some reason, JJ didn't understand the direction at all. He was completely clueless. We had to go over to him and whisper in his ear and use hand motions to show him what lining up meant. They were side to side so we had to explain to him shoulder to shoulder in a row. He eventually got it, and I'm not sure why that was so difficult for him.

Soon they were all sitting on the ground answering trivia questions. JJ knew most of the answers. He was so excited and loved the trivia. He would have been perfectly happy for another 30 minutes doing that.

In between the trivia, we had a little DIS meet. kingskidsx4 introduced himself and family to us. He recognized us from past trip reports. His son, was about JJ's age and was in this JTA group too!

They began to distribute the Jedi cloaks and they ran out. Someone had to be sent to get 3 more. JJ's was one of the three. When the cm got back, he distributed the robes. JJ ended up with one that was way too small. But he did NOT take notice to that one bit. He stood very tall and very proud.

The cm kept moving JJ back further while he waited. He'd inch closer and then they'd swap places with him and another child. It was almost comedic. He was just so into what was happening on stage. So wrapped up in it. He was beaming from ear to ear.

The Jedi Master took JJ to the center of the stage and had everybody look at his big smile. It was ear to ear.

Darth Vader's presence did not change that smile one bit.

He had a blast fighting Darth Vader. But this was just the beginning. He was told to use a force push!

At the end, Vader went back for more. But the jedi put him in his place

The jedi won, and nobody turned to the dark side.

They all got their certificates, and JJ was still smiling.

Is it just me, or does this jedi master resemble a prince?

Sounds like JJs JTA was sprinkled with pixiedust: I love that he got into it so much.:banana:

I am wondering where you guys were when the kids lined up and did the trivia? We alway meet up in the sounds dangerous building but it looks like you guys were somewhere else?

The photopass photographer got some awesome pictures:cool1:

He was fully submersed into the experience.

We were at Sounds Dangerous, but outside where the queue would have been to go into the sound stage at Sounds Dangerous.

The pictures without borders, I took with my camera. This was the first time JJ did JTA in a couple years. I think 2011 or 2010? But any time it's on the stage and we are walking by he has to stop and watch. He gets just as into it watching a total stranger as he did on the stage himself. Anyway, with all our times watching, I've found my favorite place to stand to take pictures. Usually dh has me taking pictures of the storm troopers. He's been trying to figure out straps and other parts to his Stormtrooper costume. All those pieces sitting in a box don't look near as impressive as all assembled. :rotfl2::thumbsup2

I am such a dork but I am a bit teary looking at the pictures of JJ at JTA. Super cool! So glad he got to have that experience and you can definitely tell he was loving every minute of it!!

Loved the non SWW updates as well. The Plaza is one of my favorites as well. So yummy and the chef sounds like a terrific CM.

I bet the Sully costume for Duffy is adorable!!

I am a big shopper too so appreciate all the merchandise pictures! :goodvibes

You're not a dork at all. In fact, I'm glad you shared that with me. That choked up feeling was following me around. I'd keep thinking, it can't get any better than this. Then much to my surprise it seemed there was always something else around the next corner that was equally as good or topped it. Tears of happiness began to find residence in the corner of my eye. And I'm not usually one to show it.

Glad you enjoyed the shopping updates. I'm always happy to shop. Whether browsing or buying, I love it! We started going to the The Plaza because it was more affordable than the other MK table service restaurants. It quickly became a favorite.

The Sully outfit for Duffy is so soft. But I have to be honest. I wouldn't have known it was Sully if I hadn't been told. I found this picture someone took of the costume on line. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q...7A46BE2C98D4690C4F9B318009432&selectedIndex=1

The pics from JTA are awesome !! (although, I will admit, I did giggle at the size of the jedi robe ;) ) but you can tell Anakin is having the most wonderful time !!

My grandson did JTA in Disneyland and it was run completely different. They actually choose kids from the audience .. they look for excited, happy, and I noticed kids dressed as Jedi's to participate. We were thrilled when Maddox was chosen (my boys wanted nothing to do with it :rolleyes2) but loved seeing their little nephew fighting Darth Vader ! I think I like their way better with no fighting off the crowds of people !!

We were just watching the Disney channel. They were advertising about Club Penguin and Star Wars. It was footage that was filmed at Disney's SWW! JJ reconized one of the boys that he met and saw often during SWW. That boy was interviewed! I think his name was Jeremy. He had the most elaborate and coolest costumes. His mom was telling us that she makes many of them, and the boy said that they also go shopping after Halloween and stock up. Anyway, it was so cool to see him in the commercial!!

JJ was proud no matter what he was wearing.

That's how they use to pick here. Years ago when Grumpy was in it, he was picked that way.

I bet Maddox had a blast.

Unrelated to SWW, but related to Disney...We got our MNSSHP tickets. I know last year I said we weren't going to do it this year. But we decided to! Hoping to get done all the things we missed last time. The dance parties, the villain's show, and the characters we missed.

We love MNSSHP ! It's always a great time (except when it pours that night!) but definitely worth it. :thumbsup2

It rained for us last year, too. We did have fun in the rain. Thankfully it was a very warm, light rain. It actually felt good. When it did pour we were in at a M&G so we had no idea we missed a downpour!

I think the last time JJ did JTA would have been in 2011 because we met when he and Grace were in the same group, and that's the only time she's done JTA.

:welcome: I knew you'd know, Catherine. Yes! That was the last time before this that JJ did JTA was when you were here on vacation.

It's been a week since our last outing. JJ is still having problems with those throat tics. Tomorrow we are going to enjoy our day. Have to go for labs first thing in the morning. Then we are heading to Disney! It's time for Monday Musings again.

Sorry to hear that JJ is still having problems with the throat tics. Hopefully, they will go away soon. Monday Musings sounds like a great thing. I wished we lived closer to Disney. I would love to be able to wake up and decide to go. We do that with Six Flags, definitely not the same thing. But it gives the kids their coaster fix until we get back to Disney. Only 88 more days. We booked a long weekend trip over Columbus Day. So excited.
