Come On Disney - Toss us a Canadian Deal... Universal did..

I got the PAR deal in 1999, when the dollar was around .065/USD. Can't imagine Disney bringing back that offer until the CDN dollar stays low for a long time. Also, don't expect the dollar to bounce back any time soon, as analysts are predicting it will drop even more, to under $.070 USD.

Now things could change for sure, but we are planning a January 2017 trip and I'm calculating a $0.65 dollar to be safe.

Ugh. I physically felt this hit me in the gut when I read it. I really hope not, but it seems like you've done your research.

Not holding my breath on any huge deals though. There is no real need for Disney to entice us to come ... they're operating at close to capacity at most resorts throughout the year ... we only represent a small portion of that # If i'm not mistaken the last at PAR offer happened pretty close to 9-11 and no one was traveling! Correct me if I'm wrong ... I often am as my kids are quick to point out :P

I agree with you. It's highly unlikely that Disney will offer a deal geared just to Canadians. I'm seeing an ad on my Facebook feed from WDW geared to Canadians telling us it's a great time to visit and it's for the current deals that are available. They stopped offering Canadian specific deals about 13 years ago. They don't need or really want us at WDW. They are more interested in bringing the Brits (no offence) over and the large South American Tour groups. Right now the "Canada Specific" deal is to stay at a WDW Good Neighbour Hotel. If they offered me a deal like the Brits get, I would totally book it. Also, I think if any park is going to offer a Canadian deal it will be Disneyland, not WDW. But that's just my opinion

I'm planning like the dollar will bounce back (we're going November 2016), but if we don't head towards the 85 cent territory by mid-August, I will have to start cancelling. I figure I can't be alone in this, so I'm hoping they come out with a deal for Canadians.

I planned for Hawaii when our dollar was at par, which was an incredible deal, but we actually went on the trip just after the free fall started and every time we took money out of the ATM we winced. I'm not eager to do that again.

Better start canceling. NO hope of that whatsoever.

Dollar was below 0.70 for several hours today... :(

It is just a shade over right now, like 0.02 over.

The Canada deal last year was free dining extended through all the March school breaks. That wasn't available to Americans. I've received the Good Neighbour hotel promotion but I think Disney is having too good a year with domestic business to have to fill rooms with Canadians.

It was? I must have missed that.

They are saying the dollar is headed to fifty nine cents this year. Expected to stay low through 2018. We are looking at renting out all our DVC points. Sad day today.

That is just sad to hear - trying to plan out future vacations and it's depressing!
