I am getting frustrated. We are planning to hit Universal Studios on Feb. 9 for Mardi Gras and they still haven't announced who will be playing that evening! Or even if there will be a concert! I can't remember exactly, but I was sure that most of the line up for 2012 was announced well before the new year hit.

I know it's frustrating...it happens every year. The only thing I can think of for the delay is trying to get the artist's schedules and contracts finalized before publishing the schedule.

It shouldn't be too much longer...I hope.

I"m not sure that was so. We were there in middish Feb last year, too, and I remember waiting and waiting and waiting to see who would be there.

There were only a couple of dates that were announced quite late last year. Universal seemed to post who was appearing as soon as it was confirmed so it was an ongoing process. I know our date was one of the early ones.

once the contract is signed, the date/performer is released to the public.

Yeah, last year they ended up getting most of the line-up leaked early, but it took them at least till the middle of January before they officially announced everything.

Just gotta be patient. :p

Bump - THIS :D

Can't wait either but we're not going until end of March...

And oh, just noticed the OP is from Regina - me too - hello!

Saw on the Orlando Informer that Mardi Gras entertainment is to be released THIS Monday, January 7th. Can't wait as we will be there March 23/24!

Yep, it appears someone asked them about it on Twitter and they tweeted back that they'd be making hints to some artists over the weekend with the full line-up being revealed Monday.

Twitter clue points to Pitbull being one of the artists.

I've been waiting for the lineup for like over a month at least,I try to combine Mardi Gras concerts,Bands Brew and BBQ concerts at Sea World and Busch Gardens along with the Real Music series at Busch Gardens where I've had some weekends where if I worked it out just right I can see 5 different groups in 3 days between the parks.Universal is taking so long to post the lineup I'm in limbo not knowing what dates I plan to go.Hopefully Universal has someone good the weekend of March 2nd as I do plan to see Hall and Oates at Sea World.

I'm afraid that Pitbull doesn't do anything for me. :)
Yeah, not really on my must see list either but he does have a following and helps to attract certain target demographics to the park.

I also had some folks with pretty reliable resources mention Pat Benetar as another performer this year. She is a performer that I will absolutely be planning to see.

Now we just have to wait until tomorrow for the full list.

Pat was here a few years ago for Mardi Gras and was outstanding as always. I've seen her several times since moving here.

Pitbull does nothing for me.

Her website shows March 30.

Most recent Twitter Hint from Universal...

Who’s performing at #UniversalMardiGras? “Settle down, it’ll all be clear” tomorrow when we reveal the full line up!

Gonna guess this might mean Philip Philips.

Yeah, Pat is definitely in my top 5 for Mardi Gras performances over the past few years. She has something that many of today's popular performers are lacking in - real talent and good vocal training.
