We picked up our DS, Ryan, from Coast Guard A-School in April 2008. Virginia was/is great. Can't wait to go back. Ryan is joining me at the 1/2 marathon in January.

This is me at Thanksgiving (with my stepdad ;-)) at 175, the highest weight I've ever been. I'm at 164 now and we're going up to Portland this weekend so I'll get another pic while were up there.

Welcome everyone! I can't see your pictures yet because I'm at work. Just think how fun it will be to look back when we've all lost some weight :)

Naten, maybe instead of going cold turkey you can treat yourself to sweet tea once a week or maybe instead of having 2 cups you can have a half a cup a day. Maybe your headaches won't be so bad. I love Pepsi so I tell myself I can have it (extra WW points) but I haven't had a drink yet. I keep playing with how I can spend those extra 35 points...lol It's a total mind game for me.

Last night I really wanted the Lorna Doone 100 calorie pack. I wasn't hungry I just wanted it. I brushed my teeth and call it a night. I know once I brush my teeth I stop eating. It took my an hour or two to get to that decision though..

I started WW last Saturday, but didn't diet until Tuesday. I'm thinking about not weighing this Saturday and waiting til the next. I also know if I don't loose anything I'll be in jepordy of quiting. A few extra days may help me.

Keep up the good work everyone!

Deb

I posted in the beginning that I was going to post a picture but then went to Disneyland. So here is a picture I took Jan 1st:

And here is one from Disneyland (with my big butt over that little fence - I thought I would break).

I started at 280.2 and am now 274.2 (was down to 269.8 prior to Disneyland  ). Both look pretty bad! That one from the first I don't even have any ****s now -- used to be big (then nursed 2 kids for 13 months each and now they are flat and flabby!).

I am not writing my food out - I have in the past and it does help but with two little ones now I get held accountable by them - they always want some of the "bad" stuff and I won't let them have it so they tell me I can't have it either! I just don't have the extra time to write it down each day - if I feel it becomes a problem I will take something away I enjoy (scrapbooking, photograpy, etc.) but I don't want to!

Great job on not eating those cookies. My rule is I have to drink a full glass of water before any treat (which would be ONE cookie, ONE hershey kiss, ONE anything I am wanting but doesn't qualify as healthy) so if I want TWO kisses then TWO full glasses of water - I usually do one glass one kiss then another glass ... by the time I am done another full glass I don't want that second kiss!

I understand...I look like Mrs. Potato Head...skinny legs and huge body...

I saw myself in the mirror yesterday and said...what the heck...I am wider sideways than I thought I was and that is after losing 15 pounds...what did I look like before? I am tracking all food on sparkpeople and loving it...helps me be accountable...not perfect...but accountable...

Thinking of having an agreement with my fiance...if I make my goals...I get a 20 minute massage...if no goal...no massage...I love them and that may actually make it work for me...gotta want something daily for this crud...I am greedy...:rotfl2:

OK - I almost spit out my drink picturing Mrs. Potato head - LOL!!:rotfl2:

I love the idea of rewards, and am doing that myself. A massage is a great one. My first one is new jeans, but maybe I will have to adjust that ;) Great idea!!

Deb - go weigh in. Do not put it off. You are doing really good based on what you have written here and even a 1 or 2 lb weight loss is better than not going at all. We are not on the Biggest Loser, we are real people and we should expect to lose 1 to 2 lbs per week. I know that sounds frightening (trust me at 2 lbs per week that is 31 weeks for me - or 6 MONTHS!!). But we have to remember we did not get this way over night and we cannot expect to undo it overnight either.

Great idea!! I am going to do this!!

I finally made it to work today and I walked and co-workers ...."hey, we have 2 boxes of donuts want some". I thanked them but I told them my oatmeal was so much better....yea, I was strong! (now, I keep thinking about those donuts)

I'm worried I won't even loose 1 pound. That's what stops me from going since I officially didn't start dieting until Tuesday. It hasn't been a whole week yet...but it feels like a month already...lol

Does anyone know how many pounds you have to loose to feel it in your clothing? My jeans are a little tight so I'm hoping that I'll be able to feel it at 8 lbs or so. Plus that will keep me motivated!

Welcome Scuba. I think so far you are the only "man" on this post ;) Now we'll be jealous of the weight you loose since we all know men loose it faster....lol

That's a great idea since I really don't like drinking water! That's better than my brushing teeth theory since if I really want it I can go brush my teeth again :)

Good Job! I read in another post today (Community Board) that someone ate their Weight Watchers frozen entree, drank their water ect and then went and had a filled doughnut ;) I guess one of her coworkers brought in doughnut. I'm so proud of you!

Now someone brought in a carton of Biscotti covered with chocolate from Costco today. I really wanted one even though it's one of those items I wouldn't eat if I wasn't dieting. I resisted but since it came from Costco, you know it'll take a while for everyone to finish!

Hi everyone!!

Just a quick note to wish everyone a great weekend!! RESIST those lazy, weekend temptations!!

We are going out tonight and I am trying to decide what to drink that will not be "that" bad. I mean Paralyzers are all fat and that is what I usually drink. I do not want to skip it all together as I want to incorporate this into my life, not delete these things altogether. So I am off to search less fatty drinks online.

Last night both DH and I were craving fast food, so we resisted by making burgers with whole grain buns and fries (baked not deep fried) at home. Not a great meal, but it satisfied our craving in a healthier way.

Tomorrow I am going to an all day Scrapbooking event and there will be trouble!! I always snack at those events. So this time I am bringing my water bottle, my lo-cal hot chocolate mix and hoping to drown that cravings with water!! We will see how that goes :(

Well, again, have a great weekend everyone!!

Amy

(Oh, and Deb, GO WEIGH IN!!!)

Amy, I'm still thinking about it ;)

Good luck at the scrapbooking event. I know how those can be with all the goodies. Maybe you can just have a few of those goodies and be happy with that? People bring those yummy stuff and it's so hard to resist!

I did give in and had a child size glass at dinner with some tylenol. And then finished my water. UUGH I am tired of water:joker:

I need to give this a try!:thumbsup2

You may be surprised when you weigh yourself! GOOD LUCK!:thumbsup2

I been wanting a Pizza Hut pizza, so I made my own and it was great! I'm still within my points for today with two left over for a snack before bed.

It's funny you mention PIZZA Hut! My DH is bringing home Papa Murphy's tonight:scared1: I am going to make a HuGE salad and try to only eat a small piece. Weekends are so hard around here.:upsidedow

I hate when I feel like I cheated but I really didn't :( Ugh. I had two servings of pasta tonight. It was sundried tomatoe with a 1/4 cup of olive oil between 4 servings. Some parmasan cheese...like 4 tablespoons. I still have my 35 extra points for the week and have 6 activity points so I know I haven't gone over. I just feel like I did by eating double servings. It was so tasty I had to have another serving! After dinner I did more exercise. I still feel like I failed. I have to realize this is the way I am. I do it exactly right or not at all. I have to learn to be in the middle somewhere.

Try not to be so hard on yourself. Count up the pts. you used and keep up the good work. Everyone splurges sometimes. Just pick yourself up and get back on the wagon. No big deal. You CAN do this!!:cheer2:
