My aunt is coming up on a milestone bday..we want to purchase her a cricut (she loves to scrap) which one is the best one?

or is there something else out there similiar to a cricut in the scrapbooking world that is better and more popular

I have the personal cricut and the cricut expression. The personal one cuts designs up to 6 inches (the mats are 6 by 12), but the expression cuts 12 by 12 designs. I almost never use my little one anymore--can't remember the last time I did. I love my expression though and use it all the time! So, if she's a card maker or just does small stuff, the smaller personal cricut is probably fine, but for anything else, go with the big one.

I really like my expression. Some of the cartridges that have more detailed designs can be easier to cut in a little larger size. Theyre are a bunch of online stores that are always having good sales on cartridges. I think posting on the scrapbooking board is a great idea, more will see this!

I have an original cricut. My only word of caution on this gift is - It comes with 1 cartridge - mine came with one that does a basic alphabet and basic chapes. Anything beyond that is an extra expense.The list price for many of the cartridges is about 80 or 90 if I recall correctly, although they are often on sale in enough on-line and brick and mortar stores for about $30ish.

It's a LOVELY idea for a present, but if you aren't familiar with them - just wanted you to know that you practically need to buy additional cartridges.

Now - if you buy your aunt presents for other holidays (i.e. Christmas) all you'll need is her Cricut Cartridge wish list, and then you'll be her most favorite niece EVER!

I've got the original cricut and my buddy has the expression. Having used both, I vote the expression hands down if u can afford it.
