Who says that all people who don't make 250,000 a year are not hard workers? There are lots of people out there that are working several jobs just to make ends meet. Don't make a blanket statement that is not true.

People who go to college/graduate school, and earn a fine living because they WORKED for it, versus those who a high school dropouts and work at mcdonalds/walmart greeter, and get a tax cut??? What emphysizes a lazy culture! It isn't good, because we already are. Look at the obesity rates.

my mother has a masters degree, and is working on her phd. we are still middle class. and we are still getting that tax cut.


if you're dropped out and working at mcdonalds, you're BELOW POVERTY LEVEL. thats not middle class.

Not everyone that doesn't go to college is a high school dropout. Many people don't go to college simply because they cannot afford it. Because they cannot afford it, they are unable to get a diploma that allows them to get a better paying job. Ultimately they are forced to take a lower paying job and often have to take several in order to pay the bills.

Of course you are going to have people that abuse the system, but its not enough to make such statements.

I voted obama, but um...if you can't afford a 4 year college, why not go to a community college? In California, if you make under a certain amount your college is paid for AND you get up to 6 thousands dollars to help your living situation/buying books/etc every year. From there you can either accept your A.A. degree, or transfer to a 4 year college (state colleges aren't crazy expensive, and have a multitude of ways to get the money to go). I'm sorry, I know going into debt is bad, but the education you receive in this day and age basically determines your future (besides poor teachers ).

I also don't think that Obama is going to be able to give 95% of the nation tax cuts. I know that "middle class" is different everywhere. I'm middle class in my area, but my family's net worth is well over a couple million dollars. You go an hour south and the middle class there has a net worth significantly less.

I believe that the effort is what counts though. Though he may not be able to do everything he promised (I've never heard of a president who did such a thing), I believe that he's going to bring new ideas to the plate that may not "save the world" (his words not mine, haha), but could bring a little peace to this crazy nation of ours. As long as he doesn't leave us in the shambles we're in, I'll be proud to say that Obama is the first president I've voted for.

I'm glad that Obama won.
It's not realistic though, to have a president that everyone will be happy with, or have a perfect president. THAT is not going to happen.
But I believe Obama, in his victory speech, said that he would like to work with John McCain.
And it's great to see two candidates handle this so well, here our candidates just snipe at each other and say that they're stupid.
But McCain's speech was lacking in my opinion, but I don't find him all to personable.

There are people ready, willing, and plotting to assassinate every president. If there are more than average attempts on Obama's life- this country has failed me. (And psst they already uncovered a plot a few weeks ago)

That's kinda a shame. To make a mockery of one of the things that makes our country's history. I'm not going to lie- I'm never thrilled with elections, but I believe I'll exercise a right that people died to give me a chance. Men lost their lives in war. Women spent their lives devoted to a cause that they believed that although they didn't have many rights- they should have a say in their country's history. And from that belief, that they deserved equality in voting, we gained equality in more and more things. We're still fighting for respect in a workplace, but without those women, we would be further behind today.
