Combo PTR & TR w/a side of Scrapbooking: I'm Back! TR link posted!

I didn't get mine today ? I rushed home and no mail and no UPS :sad1:
Maybe it takes longer to get to Canada? :confused3

Only a little over 3 weeks left so I'm *TRYING* to get myself organized.

Here's my TO DO list...

  • Shop for the few little things left to get for the trip.
  • Decide my park plans-which parks, which days.
  • Print out a list of QS restaurants/menus to make the most of the QSDDP.
  • Order a cake for DH's birthday dinner at Coral Reef.
  • Make Kid's ID tags for shoes- yes, I'm a worrier and don't want my babies to get lost in WDW.
  • Make DH's t-shirt for his birthday. Believe it or not, he's agreed to wear one! One of the DISigners made me a fun one with Captain Jack on it. pirate:
  • Other than actually packing everything in the suitcases I think that should do it. And yes, my suitcase are already out and ready to be filled.

Good for you... that's a small list!
I have drafted my last page in my travel book. Better be my last! 153 pages:scared1:.
Now I need to double check park hours. I noticed Tiana's Jubilee will be sill running when we are there according to WDW own site :dance3:So I want to get the times for these shows. Better be true because that makes up for the refurb!

Oh my Drakes - 153 pages???? What do you have in there?? Do you have pictures of it? I'm really curious now!

Kim - great little list. It sounds like you are really organized. I can't believe it's coming so quickly. Now that the surprise is over, are you even more excited??? Part of me wishes I was going again at the end of Jan again. It really was a nice time to get away from here. We're trying to think of something we can do to break up the rest of the long winter. Everything is so expensive! I need a good deal.

Correction 154 ! :lmao: I had to add my final thoughts.
Last year we prepared this little book that included our daily plans, including our ADR's, our must not miss lists and some guide book and hidden gems info I would otherwise forget. This year I thought I could ust change the order of things and the ADR's but our new computer will not read the old document???? :scared1:So I started over :surfweb:It also includes pictures and images. Last year I included copies of my journalling pages in the book, but found it hard, so this year there will be the book and the journal.

I hope you don't mind me stopping by and reading your pre tr. :goodvibes I have read through most of the pages and feel for you all your ups and downs. I am glad you didn't have to wait so long this year for your 4/3 deal but your other woe is really scary. I loved how you surprised your sweet children. Of course they would love the box! I cannot wait to read more about your plans.

My DH decided a week before Christmas, if we could go again in January of 2010, as we were planning to go again in January of 2011. I went online and saw the 4/3 deal, called up CAA (our AAA) and it was booked. We are trying POFQ, our first moderate, as that is the one I have always wanted to try out first, and the children decided they liked the looks of the sea serpent slide. I am so glad I found the Snowbird thread last year and found out a wealth of information from all of you as it made planning and our trip go so smoothly. I am a Type A personality and I make certain spontaneity is always well planned out. ;)

We decided since it was only a week from Christmas to try to surprise our children too. I loved the idea of a box and the balloons but due to the hastiness in purchasing so close to Christmas and our work schedules, I put it in a gift bag. We did try to go out on Tuesday to find balloons, as my nice MIL was looking after our children but there were no Disney balloons at all in our small silly city thus I thought I would attach the regular balloons I could purchase from work on the 24th. Silly me came home without the balloons and everything was closed. Oh well.
Christmas morning arrived, they opened the bag and found the Disney brochures and the guidebooks but silly me who "wrapped" that present last forgot to put in any information at all!!! In my defense I wrapped up all the gifts at once by myself and did it late, late in the night with no little peekers looking at me. They knew we were planning to go in 2011 and my DD said "Thanks Mom, this will be good in 2011!" ever so sarcastically. I was trying to work our camera, to obtain the surprised looks and told DH to look for the information about the trip. He looked briefly and said there was none and then told them. Did I ever feel like a Goofy!:upsidedow I am happy your experience went so much better.

If I read correctly you are doing the QSDP this time. We are too. I am hoping for a more expanded list very shortly as some of the CS restaurants are missing from this year's list.

Sorry to hijack your thread with my story but I thought you might enjoy knowing what it looks like when things don't go as planed.

I will be here waiting to read all of your plans.popcorn::

Mickey Mail!! :banana::cloud9:

Howe exciting! We won't get any unfortunately. Our documents will be at AKL when we check in, doesen't make sense to take chances with them getting lost in the international mail. :confused3 But I still have luggage tags from previous trips so I could pass oen on to my sister to put on her suitcase for the trip! I actually still have one from 2007 with Tinkerbell on it on my regular suitcase. It's great for spotting my suitcase on the carousel at the airport! Not at MCO though!

Yay!! I am so excited you got to do your fun hunt and surprise!! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes Your DD is too cute--putting on her clothes right away!! :cutie:

Mickey Mail--I am looking forward to getting that some day!! Not for a good long time though!! ;)

To Do List: Looks manageable. How is the progress going?

I am SO much looking forward to this trip! :goodvibes Although the weather reports in FL right now are making me a little nervous. :scared: I'm hoping things change over the next couple weeks and it isn't 50degrees during our trip!

As for my little list- it's what I had in my head...there's much more to be added to it and I'm sure I'll think of all the rest of To Do's at the last minute and panic!
Good for you... that's a small list!

AHHHHH!!!!!! You're stressing me!!!! 154 pages! I'm not feeling prepared enough now! :scared1: My little list does not compare to 154 pages. Love to see pics if you want to share. ;)

I thought Tiana's Jubilee was over in the beginning of Jan? I would love it if it is still running while we are there! :lovestruc

Awww Remmy thanks for stopping by! Congrats on your spontaneous but well planned trip. :woohoo: I'm sure your kids are thrilled even if the surprise didn't go off as planned. My kids still tell people they got a box of balloons for Christmas. Go figure.
I'm hoping to get some time to work on listing all the QSDDP restaurants that my kids and DH will enjoy. I'd like to get the $$$ worth of the plan! We had the QSDDP last time but I don't feel like we used it to it's full potential. :lmao:

:lmao: DH and I flew into MCO for our Disney honeymoon and the sheer # of black suitcases with Disney tags was overwhelming!
Yay!! I am so excited you got to do your fun hunt and surprise!! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes Your DD is too cute--putting on her clothes right away!! :cutie:

To Do List: Looks manageable. How is the progress going?

Progress is going but not as quickly as I would like. I just can't seem to find the time in the day to sit down and do my planning lately. I need a vacation! Actually I need a pre-vacation vacation to plan the vacation. :rotfl:

I've gotten a couple things done on my list! :woohoo:

I ordered a chocolate cake for DH's birthday dinner at Coral Reef. He knows we're dining there for his birthday (he picked the restaurant) but the cake will be a surprise!

I also started packing a little. Got out all the summer clothes and piled them in the suitcases.

Did a little inventory and shopping for the last of the toiletries I needed. Just need to get snacks and drinks yet. :thumbsup2

I really need to get organized soon as well only another 23 days!!

You're getting so close!!! :dance3:

You are going to do a TR, right??? I need more reports to get me through the next 11 months!!!

Yes, it looks like a late November/early December trip is in the cards for Trixie and Company!

All right Trixie!! I think that's a great time to go (since I just did it). My toughest part is not going during the worst of winter. I need everyone's TRs too to get me through!

YAY ~ For getting things done on your list!! :cool1: You are getting so close!

I hope your DH enjoys his birthday dinner (and cake :cake: ) at Coral Reef! :goodvibes

Now don't get too stressed. My book / travel journal is a mismash of things I have found since we started going in 2007. When I surf the dis and the net I journal things I don't want to forget, eventually it blossomed into a book. It's an ongoing piece of work. One day maybe I can be a disney planner and custom them for other disers ;)
So my issue right now is luggage. I pulled them out and forgot the wheel was broken on one and the zipper on the other - why we kept them in the basement broken I don;t know. :confused3
I was shopping for luggage and don't like any of them. Any ideas on good luggage?
We do have one huge suitcase, but I don;t think I can handle it solo, it does have wheels - but it is large and always classed as oversized. I also worked on my inventory and shopped for toiletries (actually more toiletries - I love the travel sized things! )

We're going to Disney this month :woohoo:

I am SO living vicariously thru you with your trip! And a funny thing about the weather...last year Andy loaded Orlando weather on his Iphone, and still to this day we check to see what it is there every single day. He told me this morning that it was in the 30's with a high of 50's!!! Brrrrrr... (isn't there a cold smilie somewhere??) But a cold day in Disney is still better than any day anywhere else!!

Oh my gosh!! We did the same thing with our iPhones!! We check all the time - but usually it doesn't make us feel better - since it's pretty much always colder here!

Aren't you excited!!!! It's really started to hit me over the past few days how close it is!!!!!

I'll be in that boat next winter. After this trip we're not planning on going back until 2012. :scared1: Next year we'll hit the beach for our 10th anniversary in July. Unless I can talk DH into Disney too...only time will tell. ;)

I hope he does! I hope we like Coral Reef. At least if the food stinks the atmosphere should be fun.

No suggestions on luggage, other than to get ones with working zippers and wheels. We're using the same set that's 8 years old. Hopefully they hold up a little while longer!

ANd OMGosh I LOVE LOVE LOVE toiletries. So little and cute! I'm sure there's something wrong with me but they are so adorable I gotta buy them all! :rotfl: What is it about mini size shampoos that makes me giddy? Maybe it's because I associate them with a trip to Disney?

Yup here he is... :cold: I sure hope this cold front gets out of FL soon. It won't feel any different than here!

I bet FL on it's coldest day is still warmer than your neck of the woods anyday!

Hey Kim - are you doing the QSDDP? Did you do it last year too? How did you like that and how are you planning to use it? We're contemplating using it in the future and I'm on an info-gathering mission. I have every intention of trying for a breakfast ADR at CRT, and would pay OOP for that. I'm just curious how it all worked out for you. TIA!

You must be getting really excited!!
