Combo PTR & TR w/a side of Scrapbooking: I'm Back! TR link posted!

Hey Kimmy Girl! :goodvibes

Just wanted to pop in and say hi! Hope to see some of those Park plans soon! Hopefully we will be able to plan a meet up for our families! :cool1:

Congratulations on the elimination of diapers on your packing list! :thumbsup2 Tell Miss E congratulations for us! What a big girl she is now! My girls were both 3 before they decided they were ready! :)

That is one of the MANY reasons we decided to wait until they were older before doing Disney! My creedo was "No diapers, no strollers and NO naps!" ;) We forgot about the no naps part but stuck to the other 2! :rotfl: It does make travelling SO much easier! Especially at Disney! :)

Waiting for more........popcorn::
I'm getting there with my plans :thumbsup2 I'll have them set soon I promise! This will be our first trip (except for our honeymoon of course ;) ) that will be diaper free. :woohoo: She's just about done with naps too which stinks when we're home but not on the go! She may still nap in Disney but it makes no difference to our day really. She napped last year in the stroller every day. We didn't want to waste time heading back to the hotel.
Yay for being potty trained! We are working on that with our DD as well. She is doing really good (most days). :) Are you considering taking a fold up potty seat (the kind you put on top of the toilet seat)? I am considering and weighing whether or not it might be a good idea. I am curious to know what you are planning on doing.
I had a fold up potty seat for my DS when he was training and his tush kept getting pinched in it. I think they make them with a cushiony top now so they don't pinch bottoms though. Plus it was kind of gross to pick it up from a dirty toilet and have to take it with me. I'm using these http://www.tabletopper.com/tabletopper/Products/?Name=potty_topper Got them at Target. She did well with them while we were out running around last weekend. You just toss them when you're done. I like that they are waterproof so if there's anything wet on the seat it doesn't come in contact with your child.
YEAH for potty training :cheer2: I have been trying to get my twins to potty train but I am finding it much more difficult to do then my older son....I am so over having to change diapers :rolleyes1

BTW you have 95 days :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
Thanks for the countdown!!! I guess I'll make a new one :confused3
I really thought she would be a while but my mom bought her some big girl underwear and she was so excited to wear Ariel and Tink that she did it in a day :scared1: She had 1 accident last Monday- first day in the big girl undies- and hasn't had one since!!! DS took MONTHS and he was almost 3 and a half by the time he got it. I'm a firm believer that they'll tell you when they are ready. Hang in there- your diaper free days are coming! :goodvibes

Congrats on the potty training!! What a great relief for you and accomplishment for your DD! Just think - no diapers = more room for souvenirs!!

One of my tickers still works today - YAY! And it's the right one. My other one is for a day late since we later added a day at the beginning of our trip. I just didn't want to start over, so I did a whole other ticker from another site. It's right down to the minute. As if that will be accurate. We're driving down, so who knows what time we'll get there??

We're driving too but DH still won't decide what time we'll leave. I know we have a while to decide but I really want to add to my Day 1 Itinerary *Leave for Disney @ such and such time* Apparently he doesn't get the obsession that comes with planning
I like your thinking :thumbsup2 I'm off to go make a list of all those souvies I can buy and fit in the half empty backpack! :yay:

Yeah, it's funny about when to leave. My DH says, we're leaving Thursday at 5. Well, gee honey, I work until 4:30 and it takes me 30 minutes to get home. Do you think we can push it back til 5:30 so I can change clothes and go to the bathroom first???

He thinks we should be ready to drive off as soon as the kids get off the bus. Well, if I didn't have to work it would be great! That job keeps messing up my Disney plans!
So my itinerary starts with Leave home at approximately 5:30 p.m. on 12/3/09!! Yippee!

Maybe you should change it to 5:35 :lmao: You can potty and change in 5 right? :crazy2:

:rotfl::lmao: I can just see it - I'll pull into the garage and DH and the kids will be sitting in the car waiting for me!
But I'm so fussy - I'll have to make sure things are turned off, timers set, things unplugged etc. go over my checklist! I'm sure DH will have the car all packed. He's not letting me drive it to work that day because he gets home before me and can get packed! If we still had our third vehicle, he'd probably pack the car the night before and drive that truck to work.
Maybe I should start pulling out the suitcases - I only have 45 days to pack!

Thanks for popping over to my tr.
I'm so excited for you getting packed! The days seem to fly by for me when I start trying to make sure I don't forget anything!

:cheer2:for potty training! ds, 3, is there right now, and it is so very exciting!

I wouldn't be able to relax the entire trip without knowing I've checked everything one last time. It sets your mind at ease.

Forgot to add that I may still bring a seat to keep at the hotel. When we use the toppers, I have to help hold her up. At least she'll be able to potty in comfort without needing me to keep her from falling in!

Another thing checked off my TO DO list! :woohoo:

I wrote up a simple letter to DS's school letting them know the dates he will miss. Apparently our school district only allows 5 days a year for vacations. Good thing I picked the week I did. Schools are closed the Friday we start driving and that Monday so he will only miss Tues-Fri for a total of 4 days. I'm sending it in with him tomorrow for approval- send some pixie dust they don't have any issues with it. I worded it that I'm INFORMING them that he will be missing the days, rather than ASKING for their permission. ;)

Maybe you should change it to 5:35 :lmao: You can potty and change in 5 right? :crazy2:

Have the toilet paper ready and clothes laid out, you could do it in three...;)

Our driving (leaving) plans last year didn't work out quite as I'd planned. We were supposed to be packed up and pick up kids from school and go...well, at 2:45 Andy's still ironing the tshirt appliques, the car wasn't packed, we still had to go by the license office to pay sales tax on my car (which of course took WAY longer than expected, and we didn't have the right info with us) AND we had to make a trip to the pharmacy on our way out of town. So I think we finally left town about 5:30, stopped about an hour into the trip for dinner and drove thru the night. Long, long night! :scared1:But I'd do it that way again!

Thanks for the link for the potty toppers. DD has been trying to use the big potty, which is fine at home--I know it is clean! :rotfl: Not so much when we are out. I think I will be heading to Target on Friday, so I will look for them then (to see how she reacts to them).

That's part of the reason why I am inclined to want to bring a seat--she is very big on her privacy when possible. At least, I will probably bring a step stool (since we are driving) to help her get up and down easier.

All said and done, I will have to wait and see how she is doing come September. One of the main reasons why I am thinking of a fold up potty seat is also because she will pee out (I know, kinda gross to say it but we are almost all parents here) and onto her clothes. I really do not want to have to pack a ton of outfits b/c of this. :scared1:

WOW :scared1: Up here, we don't get any flak for pulling our kids out of school! :confused3 As long as we inform the teachers well ahead of time and the kids are doing fine there is no problem whatsoever! Even when I was in HS and my parents took us to Disney - the teachers were all so good about it! I had a tonne of work to do to catch up when we got home but other than that, we were never given any grief about it! :)

Have the toilet paper ready and clothes laid out, you could do it in three...;)

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: This is all just too funny! Now, if you could get changed while pottying at the same time..... :rotfl: :lmao:

Good luck with the school! :wizard: I'm sure it will be fine. It's probably like here, nothing more than a procedure. They will approve it and that will be that!! :goodvibes

Did you get a response from your son's school yet? Will they respond or should you assume since you put the request in that you are good to go? One of the BIG reasons we are going in September next year is because it is the last year we can travel over DD's birthday without her missing school. Not that we would mind her missing school...:thumbsup2

Yikes! I hope it goes smoother this time around! DH was talking about driving through the night while the kids sleep but I'm not sure. :confused3 I know I won't be able to stay awake and I'll worry about him falling asleep the whole time. Plus I don't deal well with messing up my sleep schedule- physically or mentally. It might make for a rough first day.

Hmmm didn't think of that. Perhaps a fold up seat isn't a bad idea after all? I didn't think of the step stool either. She uses one at home and it would be very helpful to have one at the hotel all week too. :thumbsup2

Well, not that I haven't done that before...
I've never done both at the same time either but you know I'd be willing to try it for Disney! :lmao: To do both in 3 minutes would be a record!!!!
Good luck with the school! :wizard: I'm sure it will be fine. It's probably like here, nothing more than a procedure. They will approve it and that will be that!! :goodvibes

I hope it's all just procedure. Disney is worth being thrown in jail for truancy.:rotfl:
I hope to get a response this week but who knows how long it takes. The principal has to approve it and then I get a letter back letting me know it's been approved. Bunch of hoopla if you ask me.
I did get an email back from his teacher already though. She said *congrats, enjoy the trip, and not to worry- my secret is safe with her!* ;) We'll discuss make up work as the time gets closer.

Alright I'm having a panic attack...somebody get me a paper bag to breath into! :scared1::headache::crazy2::sad::faint:

I JUST realized that I'm not going to be home at 7am on Sunday!!!!!! Sunday is my ADR day!!!!!!! I'm going to be in the middle of nowhere in a cabin on the side of a mountain with NO long distance and NO internet. Oh the horror!!!!! I'm not going to be able to make my ADR's until late Sunday afternoon. :scared1:

DH thinks I'm crazy. *I'm sure the reservations will be there when we get home...blah blah blah...it's not a big deal....blah blah blah!!!!!* Are you kidding me???? It took me 2+ weeks just to decide which ones I even wanted!

I only have 3 to make- Akershus Breakfast, Ohana Breakfast, and Coral Reef Dinner. I should be able to get them right? It's not like I'm trying for LeCellier or CRT or anything. I'm flexible with all but the Coral Reef since it's for DH's birthday and I want to make the ressie for his actual birthday.

:headache::headache::headache::headache::headache::headache::headache:

I feel for you... if I could do them for you I would  last year, when we were at 180 day ADRs we left our northern cabin (aka trailer) and came home just to make them... I have to admit my family are just as disney crazy as me...

At least you have yours decided... I don't have mine decided yet and I have 3 days :scared1:

Hmm...two options I can think of: 1) do you know a family member/friend you would trust to make your ADRs? If you gave a detailed plan to them would you trust them to do? 2) Is there a place near by the cabin you could venture to, to make the ADRs? Even if you do not have the ability to do it right away (or you can drive somewhere close to get cell service?) after the online service opens, you could do it shortly there after.

RE: Potty seat and Stool--only parents of potty training children would be thinking of such things and not get wigged out by it. :rotfl2: I will have to wait and see what DD is doing come next summer but it is on my mind. I will be curious to know what you decide to do and how it goes.

Kim I will make the ADR's for you :confused3 You could send me a list and the times you want and I can do it! I don't mind :) I know if that was me I would be freaking out :scared1: Let me know :flower3:

Okay I think the crisis has been averted. :rotfl: I know it't not a crisis for some but I've been waiting a long time to make these darn ADR's. Stinking 90 days!!! Whose came up with that bright idea.

Anyway, I talked to my sister (who will be with us so she can't make them for me) and she said if I walk down to the river  I can get cell phone reception and be able to make them. It's not that far of a walk and I can take my cup of tea with me at 7am while everyone else is sleeping in! At least I'll have a beautiful view!

3 DAYS!!! :scared1: You better get deciding!!!! The cabin we go to isn't all that fancy. We have to make sure we sweep the plywood floors before we leave!

Yes this potty training is new for me. Well at least potty training a girl is new to me. ;) I'm curious to see how it goes too

Awwww Mel thanks! You're so sweet :flower3: But I'll be keeping you busy enough with other things in about 3 months ;) If anything changes though I will send you a PM!!!! It amazes me sometimes how nice my DIS friends are  We've never met each other but have made friendships! :grouphug:
