Combo PTR & TR w/a side of Scrapbooking: I'm Back! TR link posted!

The fish tank is amazing... and that is why we are going back. I had the mahi mahi and it was awful!!! My DM got the tuna and it was wonderful, DD got the salmon and it was good too! I think the texture of the mahi mahi and the chutney did not agree with me. I had to leave the restaurant and sit outside,

This trip I might stick with a non fish item

My 550th post - nothing compared to most of you... but I'm happy about it...

and 99 days :scared1:

I am off to the menu boards.:surfweb:

Hello!

First, a little jig for your double digit countdown:
:jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1:

LOVE the SB pages you have done--beautiful. Your kiddos are adorable too.

The all important topic known as dining:

Coral Reef: We went there on our first trip and thought the food was pretty good but that was back in 2005. I have it on our list to do next September...but I wonder if I should question it now.

Akershus is on our list to do for DD's first trip. I think she would LOVE it!!! She is also into the Princesses and Playhouse Disney.

Loving it thus far and I have subscribed. Looking forward to reading the rest of your PTR and hopefully TR! :surfweb:

We went to the Coral Reef in 2007. It was decent. Not my favorite, but not gross either!! I think you guys will enjoy it. DH liked whatever he had - some type of fish. I don't eat fish, but wouldn't have ordered it even if I did eat it with all those fish looking at me!! :rotfl:

The kids will enjoy the big tank and all the action inside it!

Just a thought - Have you done the math on what you are going to spend OOP on top of the QSDDP? I know last year when I priced it out getting the QSDDP and adding 2-3 TS meals OOP, it came up to about the same as getting the regular DDP. So that's why we went with the regular DDP. You might want to check it out!

First - sorry I'm late to the 99 Day Dance!!

:dance3:party:party::rockband: :dance3:

Second - I have done the Ohana breakfast - OH SO YUMMY!! The characters were fun too! Stitch hugged my MIL!
We like the Norway Akerhus too - we had lunch there for Paige's third birthday (on her b-day) They were so nice, we got a cake for her, and all the princesses signed a birthday card and our server did too and wrote on it in Norwegian. Very cool. Food was decent too.

I bet you will like Coral Reef just fine. Stick with what they do well - seafood or fish and it will be good. That's what I've heard at least. Never been.
Better late than never to the party! :cool1: I think Ohana is the one I am looking forward to the most! I love Lilo and Stitch!
Neither DH or I like fish so we'll probably get the chicken or steak. I don't think you can mess those up too bad...hopefully! :rolleyes1

Definitely sounds like you should get the chicken or steak next time around!
I am looking forward to seeing the big tank. That was DH's argument for it. If he's going to spend lots of money on a meal he wants a little something to go along with it. You can get food anywhere but you can't always sit next to a huge fish tank while eating it!

Congrats on 550!!!! I feel so honored that you were on my PTR when it happened!
Well that's worth celebrating to me!!

:banana::dance3:party::dance3::banana:

I'm down to 50 days and I feel VERY unprepared!
I'm getting that unprepared feeling too! For a while I was in a lull and now I feel like there's so much to do!

Awww thanks for the wonderful comments! :flower3:
I can't wait to see DD's face light up when she meets her princesses! I am crossing my fingers that Jasmine will be there. Her favorite 2 are Jasmine and Ariel these days.

Funny you should mention that Shelly- I was trying to do some math on it last night and am still undecided on whether or not it would be a better deal for us. I didn't get to finish because my eyes were getting tired.
If I make my ADR's as OOP without the regular dining plan and then upgrade to the regular dining plan, will that mess up my ressies?

Yeah, you might want to check that out. You would be able to throw a few more character meals in there! :thumbsup2

No, it won't make a difference on your ADR's.

Good luck running the numbers! :teacher:

My only worry is that I'm already pushing it having 3 ressies to be to during the trip. I really want to make this trip a little more relaxing and hopefully DH will enjoy it a little more at a slower pace. He'll flip if I tell him we have a ressie every day! :lmao: I might not get back to Disney for a loooong time if so!

ADR's Yay:cool1:

We are trying the Askershus this time. I'm looking forward to it. It's really funny, we're doing several of the ones you mentioned, Ohana, Teppan Edo, Le Cellier, and Chef Mickey's & Crystal Palace. We found Teppan Edo last trip and it's one of my family's new favorites. Looks like a lot of eating in Epcot. :lmao:

I found a deal on the memories suite, can't wait to get it and try it. There's some super digital kits on ebay. :) I'm definitely on :cloud9:

Congrats on getting the Memories Suite! It's not too hard to get the hang of. They have a blog on their site that has lots of tips. I'm still learning new techniques! I haven't ordered any from eBay yet- maybe I need to do a little eBay shopping soon :thumbsup2

I'm excited about Akershus too!

BTW I stopped by your PTR/TR and LOVED it! :goodvibes Your kids are adorable and you took soooooo many beautiful pics of Disney at Christmas! I loved all the photopass pics and borders!
I keep saying my next trip will be at Christmas. Hasn't happened yet but it will someday!

See my DH likes to eat, so having an ADR everyday is a plus!! :rotfl:

Also I break it down and try to do about 2 breakfast ADR's (maybe one really early and the other a late breakfast), 1 lunch ADR, and 4 dinner ADR's. That way we aren't tied down every single night for dinner.

I did like the more relaxed approach of the regular dining plan ( our 2007 trip). Having the CS freedom, we ate breakfast OOP early at the resort, and always had a TS dinner, we did pay oop that year for a CP breakfast. We were rookies and had no idea. We booked our trip for Jan 2007 in November 2006, and did not know about ADRs. So I think we booked ADRs 45-60 days out, we had NO idea therewere character meals, when we found out we picked one for each dinner  It was reading dining reviews and my families decision to pick the deluxe in Jan 2009. It was nice having so many nice meals and not worrying about paying OOP for. I didn't like planning around our meals, however I also didn't miss eating CS every day... although WDW has improved with the salads and such ( there is only so much burgers and nuggets we can take in a week).
This trip I chose deluxe because I plan again on alot of character meals and a few 2TS meals. My family has said they will only do deluxe.
I think I'd like the regular plan, but for us it's better priced to do the deluxe when we do the math.:confused3(Gee I probably sound like a snob or a pig or both)...

I think doing the math is very beneficial. :goodvibes

Thanks so much for the comments, glad you liked my TR  I love trying to get good pics, goes along with the scrapbook addiction :rotfl: Disney at Christmastime, just an extra amount of Disney magic, can't wait til Dec. All the decorations are just unbelievable.

I think we're going to do our own mini Bibbidi for my DD and my niece for the breakfast at Askershus. Maybe just fix their hair and makeup. Belle was my DD's favorite when she was my little princess princess:. Excuse me while I cry because my baby is now in middle school. But while we're in disney, she's five again and we just have a blast! If you read my TR, and remember me and my son riding Tower of Terror? Well to my surprise, he's been saying this week we are going to ride it again this time. Just not in the front row. We'll have to see if he chickens out when the time comes.:rotfl2:

I am excited about the digital stuff. Going to be making some special Christmas gifts.

Surprise trips for the Holidays are so much fun, I had to get in our planning.
Your scrapbook pages are super! I'm so inspired to get to work on our last trip!

Funny my DH is a picky eater- my kid's inherited it of course so food at Disney isn't a big deal for our family. Sometimes I wish it were- I don't mind good food or ressies! :lmao:

I'd love to do deluxe. YUMMMY!!!! I'd probably have to pack my sweats because I'd eat so much and need the stretchy waist pants though.

Awwww isn't it amazing how everyone suddenly becomes 5 again when you're at Disney :cloud9:
Good luck with TOT! :scared1: That's one ride we skip.

Thanks for the kind words :cutie: I just jumped over to your PJ- I'd love to plan a vow renewal. DH and I have been married for 8years now and he doesn't believe me when I tell him that we will be doing a VR for our 20th. 15th if I can get my way sooner :rotfl:

AAHHHHHH :scared1:What happened to my tickers! How am I supposed to countdown without it????? I hope they get this fixed soon

Well I had a busy weekend full of all the busy weekend usual stuff but I did manage to get some planning done. I worked on my itinerary- still a work in progress and of course dependent upon getting my ADR's this Sunday. I also worked on my Christmas list. It's short and sweet since the trip to Disney is their big gift. I went through my stash and made a list of all the things we need for the trip yet. Not much needed which is nice! I revamped my packing list and took diapers off of it!!!! Woo Hoo- our backpack will be so much lighter without them! I'm so glad DD is potty trained now!

I'd love to know how many days I have left but alas my ticker is still gone.

Hey Kimmy Girl! :goodvibes

Just wanted to pop in and say hi! Hope to see some of those Park plans soon! Hopefully we will be able to plan a meet up for our families! :cool1:

Congratulations on the elimination of diapers on your packing list! :thumbsup2 Tell Miss E congratulations for us! What a big girl she is now! My girls were both 3 before they decided they were ready! :)

That is one of the MANY reasons we decided to wait until they were older before doing Disney! My creedo was "No diapers, no strollers and NO naps!" ;) We forgot about the no naps part but stuck to the other 2! :rotfl: It does make travelling SO much easier! Especially at Disney! :)

Waiting for more........popcorn::

Yay for being potty trained! We are working on that with our DD as well. She is doing really good (most days). :) Are you considering taking a fold up potty seat (the kind you put on top of the toilet seat)? I am considering and weighing whether or not it might be a good idea. I am curious to know what you are planning on doing.

YEAH for potty training :cheer2: I have been trying to get my twins to potty train but I am finding it much more difficult to do then my older son....I am so over having to change diapers :rolleyes1

BTW you have 95 days :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Congrats on the potty training!! What a great relief for you and accomplishment for your DD! Just think - no diapers = more room for souvenirs!!

One of my tickers still works today - YAY! And it's the right one. My other one is for a day late since we later added a day at the beginning of our trip. I just didn't want to start over, so I did a whole other ticker from another site. It's right down to the minute. As if that will be accurate. We're driving down, so who knows what time we'll get there??
