Hello all,
I do not know if I’m going mad but I’m sure I saw posts saying that two add on resorts can be combined to reach a higher discount ? As the discount rates are the same I thought I could buy 75 pts at Riviera and 75 tab Copper Creek to reach the 150 pt discount? Has anyone done this?
Thanks

I have. You are allowed to combine them if the incentive being offered is the same -- which they are right now! I did this last year during the big summer savings incentives, and it was definitely worth it!

FYI, you can only book the home resort at 11 month, you can not combine 75 Riv and 75 CC to have 150 at 11 months at either resort. At 7 months you can use those 150 anywhere that has availability.

I feel like I am hugely missing what the advantage is to doing this. Just having two resorts? Or is there a larger overall discount?

Thanks for your replies,
I’ve heard back from my guide - he says I definitely can’t 😒 but Lorana has 🤷‍♀️?

The reason for doing so - I’m only after enough to get a blue card - we already have enough points for our main stay, these are for shorter stays so 75 at each gets a few days with home advantage at both. Also the lower point contracts should hold value better and our ‘exposure’ to the resale restrictions would be reduced. Also we can combine at 7 months for a longer riviera stay if we wanted. Just wish the guides were more consistent. Maybe I’m over thinking it (as always).

The discount is the same. The advantage is 2 resorts with 11 months booking windows.

Yes, getting two resorts which give the 11 month advantage. In my case, I was buying GWs at CCV, and was interested in a small RIV contract for a few nights in Food & Wine/Fall season (and thus want the 11-month advantage). Adding on a small RIV contract bumped my points to the next tier of discount, giving me $5/off additional per point for ALL my points, which is why it was definitely worth it for me.

Did they say no because they won't combine, or no because it seems they are now enforcing 125-point minimum for the first contract? FYI, my guide did tell me I could combine RIV & CCV again to get higher tier incentives. But I'm also already an owner, and so the minimum for me is 50-points at each resort. Some people have reported success at getting less than 50-points when doing a larger add-on and breaking them down, but my guide at least was firm that I couldn't get less than that.

Thanks- You may have a point if he thought we are new members. I’ll go back to him and remind him that this is an add on.

The other thing to consider is that DVD will change incentives as well as what they allow.

It is possible that while they allowed it in the summer, they decided not to any longer, I am not sure why it should matter, so hopefully you get good news.

Our guide messaged me again stating that we definitely can not combine points-maybe it’s recent change. We were already struggling to convince ourselves into buying enough points direct for a blue card!
