Combining Reservations

I very carefully made my dining reservations for 6 at exactly 180 days out only to find out a month ago that we have 2 more people joining us. I was successful at getting 2 person reservations around the same time as the 6 person reservations, but I have not been able to get 8 person reservations. I am wondering what the likelihood of them letting us sit together is. We are 6 adults, a 4 year old and a 4 month old.

Ohana dinner with the reservations 20 minutes apart both in the first half hour they are open.

Tusker House breakfast after park opening with the reservations 15 minutes apart.

Garden Grill dinner with the reservation 20 minutes apart.

I understand that we may just have to accept that we will be a different tables, but I am wondering if anyone has had success combining reservations and how you have gone about doing that? I have been driving myself crazy searching for 8 person ADRs, so I am hoping something will work with what I have. Thank you!

When you check in (20 minutes before the LATER time of the two), tell them that you are together and would appreciate being seated that way.

It may or may not be possible, but they'll try their best to get it done. You may end up waiting considerably longer than you would otherwise to be seated, but they'll try to get you what you ask for. They may also try to seat you 4-and-4 next to each other or something, if they can't get you a table for 8 (there are just far fewer tables of this size in any restaurant on property).

Garden Grill is probably going to be the hardest, just because they don't have such large tables, and they'd need to have two adjacent tables (that share a "pod") open up at the same time to seat you side by side.
