ComAir operated by Delta

Does anyone have any experience with this airline. I thought we were flying Song but my itinerary calls out Comair.

All I can think of is that movie with Nicholas Cage & John Malkovich.

I'll take any info I can get so I can remove ConAir from my thoughts.

Ive never heard of Comair.. we are flying Song through Delta. Thats the only partner I have heard with Delta, But I could certainly be wrong.

Comair flys a lot of the shorter distance "regional" flights under the Delta or Delta Shuttle name. Without seeing your itinerary, I'm guessing that you probably have at least 1 connection, and the Comair flight is the first flight, from a smaller airport to a larger airport where you'll connect.

ComAir is actually a seperate company, however, Delta has majority ownership (possibly even owns the whole company outright), and ComAir doesn't fly any routes of their own, all their flights are marketed as Delta or Delta Shuttle.

Airlines do this because it allows them to have the shorter/regional flights operated by pilots who are under a different contract, and thus more cheaply. Delta's not the only one. Every other major US Airline (United, USAir, Northwest, Continental, and American) all do the same thing.

I'm pretty sure I've flown that via Delta going to WDW. I am sure I even had them on both of the legs of the flight (at least the flight route I took then is now operated by them). Really when I fly someone like Delta or America West, I am used to having another name associated and I don't notice any difference at all in a regular Delta flight and one like Comair.

Yes SyracuseWolvrine, we are flying 1st from Boston to Reagan Intl. via ComAir then on to Atlanta via Delta.
