Beginning to plan a trip for next October and had two questions:

1. What are the crowds like over Columbus Day weekend (never been during this time)?

2. Right now we are looking at the Beach Club and I wanted to know what rates might I likely find for this time of the year. I know WDW offered discount codes this past October and I wanted to know what did some of you get for rates this October? I'm not AP but I do belong to AAA; however, the codes are usually better than AAA. Thanks.

1. We were at WDW this last Columbus Day weekend and did not find the crowds to be bad - with a little planning and fastpasses we were able to ride everything we wanted to. We were actually somewhat surprised on how much we were able to do on this trip, as we were expecting it to be more crowded than it was. For Example : we returned to MK one-half hour before Wishes, and were able to watch it while standing beside Walt & Mickey. Way Cool !

2. As far as past rates, you might want to check Mousesavers. In our case we stayed at AKL in a pool-view room with an AP rate of $135/night (plus tax). I think B/C would have probably been in the low $200+ range, but that's just a guess.

I live in the Ft Lauderdale area of FL and this year our kids were not off for Columbus day. Nor will they be off next year but they will be off the Friday before.

October is considered Regular season with prices starting at $335 but you never know they might have a general room only offer but I would book early and keep eyes open around the end of August for the room discounts to be announced.

good luck
Shirley
