DH and I might have an opportunity to go to WDW either the week of Columbus Day (Oct 10-18) or Veteran's Day (Nov 7-15). This would be DS's first time at WDW...he'll be a year old at that point. We want to go during F&W, which will be ending Nov 10th. Just wondering which week would have better crowds? I know the Wine & Dine Half Marathon would be the last weekend of F&W, which is when we would be there if we go in November. We've been in October before and really enjoyed it, but not during a holiday week. Besides crowds, is there anything else we should be considering in order to make a decision between those two weeks?

I would HIGHLY recommend the week of Veteran's Week. We were there last year at that time and the crowd levels were very low.

We were there Veteran's Day Week last year and the weather and crowd levels were perfect. So perfect in fact that we're booked again for 11/08-11/16. We're staying 4 nights at the Yacht Club (where we can be near the Food & Wine Festival) and 4 nights at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

I've been to both..Columbus Day 2012 and Veterans Day 2013..even though i had left disney world the saturday before the holiday I would say that both crowds were very manageable. As long as you don't do food & wine on the weekends you will be fine. As for the weather, I loved them both but I would have to favor Veterans Day. I am not a "shorts" fan and prefer to wear jeans and did not sweat once!
