Columbia Harbour House- no more hush puppies??

They also changed the sweet and spicy waffle..they're shooting themselves in the foot. Because at this rate I'd rather bring in lunchables and uncrustables than eat many other places. I had both the Nutella fruit waffle and sweet/spicy waffle in the last two weeks.
I love Mickey waffles... but I also enjoy a nice thinner normal one. I feel like it was a lot more convenient park food with it being the normal waffles. Definitely appealed to me more that I could pick it up and eat it on the go (which was exactly what I was going to do). The giant Mickey waffles will be harder to manage.

Dang, I had the hushpuppies on the day of my Tiana AP preview and they were the only thing I ate at MK that weren't garbage. Guess MK is destined to have horrible food after all. It's fate.

OMG-no more Nutella waffle at Sleepy Hollow! I hoped people weren't sure, so I went to the menu and sure enough-they have Mickey waffles with Nutella and bananas OR Mickey waffles with berries and strawberries, but no longer do they have waffles with Nutella, bananas, berries, and strawberries. Disney seems to be betting on people accepting waffles with fewer "things" on them if they're Mickey waffles. I know I won't!

Weridly, hush-puppies are pretty cheap. Seems like an odd one for cost-cutting.
I don't disagree Brian, the ingredients wouldn't cost much, maybe it's the labor? There's likely an algorithm that equates ingredients/labor/sales/etc. Multiply that by 10s or 100s of thousands of servings, I guess it could add up? Just spit-ballin' here.

I dunno - I mean, they're deep-frying stuff anyway. Hush-puppies are by definition just some leftovers to throw to the dogs.

I don't think it's ingredients, it's like the labor to mix it up, make the balls, fry it etc ... when it's mostly a side to meals - so not really a cash generator. I really doubt they sell high volume as a side dish / snack. Like cole slaw used to be a 2nd side on their dishes and they dropped it, tossed a few extra fries on there. That was more labor intensive than tossing frozen fries in the oil.

DDP is the culprit for much of the downgraded dining experiences (in my opinion.)
Yep
I haven't checked lately but how hard is it to get ADRs now that the DDP is back. Was sure nice the last few years having no issues getting ADRs even at popular places. I'm sure that is another reason Disney has DDP aside from profits. Keeps folks booking ADRs.
Was able to get a day of beaches & cream on 6/17
On 6/24 I was playing around on the app and if driving from Lakeland on a Saturday to go to a 750am ADR didn’t sound unhinged I’d of taken my parents to topilinos on 6/29 as they had that available

You can apparently add a side of berries for $1

I don't like Hush Puppies and not sad they are gone as I was unhappy when they started adding them. But I will agree it is far easier to have the same sides everywhere labor and cost a million pounds of fries is far cheaper to buy per pound then 100 pounds of Hush puppies employees can go from place to place as well.... I do miss the salad they had with shrimp however. No difference we do not eat at MK anymore for years now.

Just read reports that the Hush Puppies are back in the trio platter or as a side.

First they broke my sister's heart by getting rid of the tuna sandwich, then they broke mine by getting rid of the hummus sandwich. Quality vegetarian options are difficult to find in MK and their crabcake sandwich was mediocre, at best. I'm excited to see that they've added a new veggie option!
What veggie option did they add? (Somewhat reluctantly with the recent changes lol :sad1: ) trying to figure out where we will even eat on our upcoming trip..

It's called a plant-based crispy mushroom roll. Will it be good? I hope so. Will it be better than the veggie crab cake sandwich? Lord knows, it has to be. :rotfl2:

Wonder if they come in the trio platter again. Prob not to save money. At least we can get some again.

They are gone from the menu, we were there last Sept and they weren't on the menu, we will be there in a few weeks will check and see if maybe they are back.....but don't think so

They are back in the menu as a side dish same $4.99 as other sides but not listed as a side to mobile order with meals. We will probably check in person and see if we can get as a side with meals and if not order a couple of extra sides of them to share as a group.
