Colored Ice Cubes

I've seen several references to people buying drinks with colored ice cubes. Is this something similar to glow in the dark necklaces where a plastic tube is cracked to release some liquid that glows?pDo you take these home with you? Are they reusable? Where are they available?

I got my colored ice cube in a kids' drink at 50s Prime Time Cafe/Diner in MGM Studios.

We did take it home and it lasted about 3 months before finally dying. (You just tap its side and it goes on and off.)

the waitress said they have about 12 hours glow time. they seem to be all over (and significantly hike the price of a kids sprite). my daughter collected about 6.

My sister's two DDs brought some cubes home and love them so much that she asked me to pick up a bunch more when I go in a few weeks.

c4241: They are hard plastic squares that look just like Icecubes. When you bang one side they turn on and when you bang the other it turns off. They are pretty cool and you have a choice of red, blue or green.

They do boost the price of sprite from $1.99 without the cube to $5.99 with it.

These are available at 50s Prime Time, Sci Fi, and Hollywood and Vine..choices are red, blue, green, orange, or clear.

I've only seen these glow cubes sold at the rest. in MGM. I haven't seen them sold anywhere else on Disney property. I don't think that you can find them in any of the gift shops but I could be wrong.

I have seen these in catalogues for alot less money. I think Oriental Trading Co carrys them.

I looked online, but couldn't find the cubes in the Oriental Trading Co's website.

They are also sold (in drinks) at Le Cellier in the Canadian pavilion.

We bought GS one by just walking up to the restaurant check in counter. don't remember the price of drink with cube. We didn't eat there, it was the place where you sit in the cars and eat, (brain freeze....can't remember name of restaurant.)

Sounds like Sci Fi...didn't Fantasmic sell drinks with them as well. I remember thinking it was kind of high for ice cubes that just glow for a while.

I just got my new oriental trading catalog on fri and I have yet to find those ice cubes(and I have been thru this book about 8 times now!) I thought they'd be great for DD's Party!

Just one cube per drink. My kids got them at Sci-Fi, but it also came with a souvenier cup. They had them at the Coral Reef as well, but I think it was blue only. The drink was called "Blue Whale."
