Color stations at PFTS.

I just listened to the review of PFTS. I was there that night!
I've done this event a number of times the past few years and there used to be a reason for the colors. It used to be that you would recieve a brochure that listed all the wines and foods by the color station. This way you would not only know all the foods that were being offered but also where to find them. I thought that the brochure this year was a big dissapointment, I told every suit that would listen that evening.

My friends and I do a mom's weekend and attend this event each year. We stay at the Boardwalk and dress up for a special evening. While I do enjoy the evening very much, I have found the rush for a table NOT a nice way to start the evening. I also thought the food offerings were not quite as great as in the past. Also the performers, while quite talented, were not Cirque as in the past, but some other troupe.

We still enjoyed ourselves - we had a table - don't mess with 7 soccer mom's on a mission! I agree that they should add more tables. While I understand the idea that you walk around and stop just to eat at a table and move on, that is not what people really want to do. And it is especially inconvenient if you have a large party.

We enjoyed the wine and the food, you were right about the crab and mac and cheese. It was great and we had a very nice conversation with the chef. Also the pulled pork was a big hit with us as well - but if we are talking about the same dish - it was actually pulled turkey (now think of how much healthier you feel). The lack of a brochure listing the food made it tough to tell what was being offered as people did tend to crowd around the sign.

Anyway, sad I missed the oppertunity to say "Hi", thanks for this review - it was fun to relive it...and for all the reviews that you do.

Hi Tammy....sorry we missed you.

I believe there was a pulled turkey served over a root vegetable puree with "other" stuff". This station was against a wall.

There was also a pulled pork over a green chili polenta.

The pork dish was by the gentleman that had written the Texas BBQ cookbook.

I am only this sure of this because our "stand up" table was between the two.

Thanks, Tammy, for posting this. I meant to do it myself when everyone was talking about the differently colored sections.

Has anybody been able to find out why the brochure was so different this year? Was a cost-savings issue?

I stand - or sit- corrected. You are right, our pulled turkey was against the wall. This was near where we were sitting. So apparently I missed the pulled pork. I sure wish they hadn't changed the brochure, I was afraid I would miss something that I might like!
There was a great scallop dish as well, did you get to try it?
I also thought the truffles were wonderful. The line however seemed to be a circle around the stand with no way to join it without gettingin front of someone. And once people got in the truffle line - it seemed they never came back out....:)
