I just saw the Color Pixter at Wal Mart on clearance for $45 yesterday--all colors. I also saw the cover for it for $7.

Has anyone bought one of these for their children and is pleased with it? I would like to get some feedback, but don't want to let this bargain get away from me before I wait too long. They also had the little "mini" Pixter for $7.

I got both my kids one ages 5 and 7 and they love them. They got them for christmas and I brought them to my moms house and my nieces and nephew ages 7, 9, 11 loved it too so my brother had to go get 3 the next day for his kids. My sister age 19 and brothers ages 15, 31 loved it too. Best toy of the year and its still used regulary. Go for it.

I live in a cave! I've never heard of it. :confused3 So I go looking to see what you are talking about. :teacher: And now...I WANT ONE!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

And I might let our 9 year old play with it if he is good. :rotfl:

When they first came out, I bought the Leapster for DS (then 5) and the color Pixter for DD (then 9). The Pixter has been worth the money, definitely, but I've sent the Leapster back to the company twice for replacement because the screen stops responding to the pen/stylus thing - and it still does not work consistently. Also, the digital camera attachment for the Pixter is junk - we can rarely tell what DD was taking a picture of.

For under $50, it's probably worth the gamble.

I agree with the Digital Camara part. Can not see what I took a picture of. There has to be something I am doing wrong.

Thanks! I'm going to get a blue one and probably the Disney game. Has anyone ever seen the games for these on sale?

I almost bought it at circuit city last week for $39.99 for ds but changed my mind since his sister has the leapster and loves her. needless to say I bought a new one off ebay for $40.99 :confused3 anyhow they had their games also on sale too. there wasnt too many left at mine

They must be doing with their Pixters as we are doing with our Video Nows.. As the Pixters are still Active in the Walmart system (We still have a billion (okay okay 120) Color VNows that we are trying to get rid of and they are now down to 25)

Pixter is a good system that is pretty diverse for what it can do.

You probably just need to calibrate your screen. It's really easy to do. Just look up calibrate on the Leapfrog website, and you should find it. We have had to do this a couple of times with ours.

Personally we like the Leapster better than the Pixter, b/c you can plug it into the cig. lighter in the car. The Pixter has to be fed batteries continually (unless you have rechargeable ones). We have rechargeable batteries, but they never seem to get recharged when the kids get done using them. :confused3: The Pixter is a neat system, though. My kids like ours.

We bought an adapter at Wal-mart for $7 and it has several different plug-ins, and you can change the voltage. So, we can use that one adapter for my dd's cd player, the Leapster, and the portable dvd player. :cool1:

HTH!
