We'll be at WDW next week during the end of Gay Days. I often dress our family in color coordinated outfits so we don't clash in photos and so we can more easily find each other in a crowd if we get separated. I thought I recalled from a few years ago when I was there during Gay Days that their group usually wore a certain color each day. Does anyone know what the color schedule might be, or if there even is one, to help me plan my family's outfits accordinly?

I was pretty sure that it was red, every day, no?

Does it really matter? I have read that families wear red who are not gay in support of someone in their family who is...I doubt anyone will try to pull you into 'their world'...:confused3

I am a young mom and we are going to Disney in 5 days...I think that if these boards didn't exist--you probably would not even realize that there was such a thing as a Gay Day...Everyone has a right to enjoy themselves...as long as their good time doesn't impede on my good time then we are good! That is my vacation philosophy no matter when we go. You are entitled to have fun but not at the cost of someone else's fun...

I am not worried about it. Wear red if you want...who cares!

Not sure about the OP, but it don't matter to me.I am not gay and wore red during gaydays and had no issues. It doesn't bother me in the slightest.

:thumbsup2 RMulieri-What has been your experience with this weekend? I am assuming it will be crowded but I am thinking there are so many other events going on that there might be pockets of time where things are crowded and then not...be interested to hear your take!;)

I guess if someone is uncomfortable wearing red because of GayDays, they could have a red shirt that says I am not Gay I just like Red... :-)

I am bringing my DH and my boys for Star Wars Weekends :-) Looking forward to it.

After reading the OP post I think that she might just want to wear another color as not to be in a sea of red and make it easier to find family if they get separated.

Kinda like I bring ponchos to the park(esp when DD was younger) so when it rained and WDW poncho cladded people flooded the parks I could EASILY pick out my DD,

Well at least thats what I hope OP was getting at.

I'm not the OP but it didn't sound to me like she was posting because she'd be uncomfortable wearing the Gay Days color(s). I think she was just wanting to preserve the find-each-other-easily-in-the-crowd benefit of wearing color-coordinating T-shirts. I've been to Gay Days and there is usually quite a sea of red shirts. Wearing red shirts definitely wouldn't help family members find each other in the crowd on those days.

True..I reread the post. I hope that is what she meant too...
You can imagine in getting ready for this trip, I have seen so many -dont-wear-red-its-gay-day-posts! I am not gay, have a family with two little guys...but I am surprised at the amount of people who are SO concerned about the red shirt!!!!!!:confused3 so hopefully, yes that is what OP meant-- It would be hard to find a red shirt in a sea of red shirts yes...I don't dress my family in matching colors, so really a nonissue for me!

I think its hysterical how as soon as someone asks a question about "gay" days... there has to be SOMEONE who freaks out and gets all bent out of shape... like they are all offended. Its ridiculous. If the person just wants to know what color the gay pride will be wearing...SO BE IT. :confused3 I wish those who are doing so, would just get off their high horse and let the questions be stated and STOP being so defensive. I didn't hear one sour remark from the poster. Leave it alone if your NOT gonna answer the question..it DOESNT apply to YOU then!

Just more crowded parks. I think though the festivities are spread out so that its like universal parks on certain days and disney parks on others.I just remember MK being really crowded

HMM...Who is offended? Who is bent out of shape? No one attacked the OP at all. Just offered it up there that if she wanted to wear the flippin' red shirt, wear it...
I love how someone comes on here and has to post some nasty remark...Seems the only one on a high horse right now is you.

The reality is that the OP, the constructive responses to it, the non-constructive responses to it, and the attacks on the constructive and/or non-constructive response, and the responses to the attacks, are all standard features of just about every thread that is even tangentially related to this subject. Indeed, I think this message is the first one in this thread to be unique.

Just trying to lighten the mood... :rotfl:

There were no "nasty remarks" thats the point my dear. The person asked a question... Not for anyone to make them feel funny about the question she asked.
<~ No high horse here... :hippie:

I think you misunderstood what I was saying...I already said in a previous post that I did misunderstand what she was saying but who cares anyway...wear the red shirt, don't wear the red shirt! Honestly, I was not offended or bent out of shape in anyway and my post did not read as if I was at all...the only post that had that tone was yours. I am over it!

:hippie:

I think the OP just wants to wear a color that she can find her kids in a crowd. If everyone is wearing red it kind of defeats her purpose of wearing the same color to be able to easily find them :confused3
I certainly didn't take her post to be anti gay days at all. she just wants to put everyone in a color so she can find her kids easy.

and yes, I think its red, but if you want to be sure go over to the gay/lesbian board, they will be happy to help you, they are very nice over there!
