Colonoscopy Experience Yesterday (long)

Ugh, what an experience, Christine. I'm surprised they increased your Prilosec usage if it cause a polyp?

Apparently, it is a known and expected fact of using the Prilosec-type medications. They know that they cause polyps and, they say, they are harmless. The real concern is my gastritis which needs to be cleared up and only Prilosec and this new medication will do that.

I'm not sure if seeing this thread is good for me today or not;)

Saw a gastroenterologist for the first time yesterday. She is sending me for an HIDA scan/test of my gallbladder, and I will have an upper endoscopy on Tuesday. I've also got a prescription for Protonix that I need to fill.

I'm a little nervous, even though I probably shouldn't be.

I don't mean to scare anyone. You must understand that I am a super-anxious person. My GI doctor tells me that "I cannot help it, it's just the way I'm wired." He told me that when he gets extremely anxious people in for the procedures, it takes a lot more meds to put them under than it does "normal" anxious people. Lucky me!! I guess there is so much adrenaline that it's like trying to knock out a race horse.

Anyway, I've never had the HIDA scan but I do know that the upper endoscopy is truly a PIECE OF CAKE!!

I am sorry you had such bad weather on the day of such procedure. I hope that the meds help you feel better soon.
