I'm sure many of you have been through the college admission process. The runs to the mailbox, the suspense, the envelope opening. Different schools seem to send different types of notifcations. One college printed "congratulations" right on the front of the envelope. Another came in a plain business envelope with just the address on the outside, we were almost sure that was a rejection but it wasn't! The winner in the humor and creativity department has to go to Penn State. Is there any doubt in your mind what is in this envelope:

I work with Admissions at Ithaca College. Our acceptance letter is a Large Envelope with many papers in it. In the future we are going to put in Dvds. Good luck guys!!!

Congratulations Alex. Finally going to college. :lmao:

I'm sure the experience will be wonderful (just as long as it is not the University of Florida ).

Up here in Ontario, it's pretty clear cut. A thin typical envelope equals a rejection, and a thick letter-sized package equals an acceptance.

Universities here also send "Please come to (some Canadian university/college)!" postcards or packages even BEFORE they mail the acceptance/rejection letters, so it can be kind of confusing.

My little brother got TWO of those from his school of choice before he recieved his acceptance letter. For kids waiting for those letters, it's kind of nerve wrecking!

It used to be that way here too. Now an acceptance is often a thin envelope and a letter that says congratulations and an online link to more info

Alex, my condolences on the Penn State acceptance. :lmao::lmao: I guess you wouldn't know I graduated from Pitt. :rotfl2:

Well you may actually win this round, I'm a Penn State graduate and she was also accepted to Pitt... and she wants to go there!

Hilarious, and congrats! Our friend's son got into Georgetown and U. Chicago, and is still waiting to hear from HYP.

Congratulations. If she goes there, I have 2 young family friends who are going to be sophomores in the fall. I would be happy to try and introduce them to make her new life a little easier.

Wow, I can't believe she's ready to head there. just seems like yesterday when you brought her to the house in Mansfield (MA) to help Bob with the wfi. brian plyed soocer out back with her. Don"t know why I'm so surprized, he turned 27 in Feb, so she had to have been getting older too. Good luck with the search. Di

As much fun as FOUR years of college is (and I really do miss that WAY too much fun between college and Disney's COllege Program), I don't miss junk like this... waiting for admissions, SATs, etc.
