Collective Shoot - "Things with Wings"

DH spotted this scarlet tanager this morning when he was fishing so he called me...luckily he hung around long enough for me to grab my camera and get to DH's fishing spot before flying off. I haven't seen one in several years so I was pretty excited to be able to get some pictures of one.
Nice shots Jeanne, I've never seen one here in NH, looking in my bird book they are on the decline and need large areas of unbroken hardwood forest. Great catch :thumbsup2

I fogot who it was that posted about the Lord of the Wings: Birds of Prey show at this zoo, but this is one of the reasons why I wanted to go. It was very cool.

At the end of the show we were able to get within a few feet of one of the American Bald Eagles. VERY COOL:

We built a bluebird box last year, and this year we got some inhabitants:) . The babies literally just "flew-the-coop" last week. We have been feeding them mealworms periodically, which they absolutely love. Yesterday, I was able to catch a few pics of them. They are getting bolder and allowing me to get close to them when they eat.

Those are all great shots, you did a nice job shooting them. I like this Hawk in the picture, it's an American Kestrel very small and colorful. Been trying to shoot some at the wildlife preserve near me but they are pretty camera shy and fly off. Nice job.

Took this on Saturday at the NC State Zoo....one of the only good pictures I shot at ISO 200, everything else was ISO 800....by mistake.

D50+ Tamron 28-75 f/2.8

this bird is so pretty do you know what kind of bird it is?

yekim loved your last "water lily" shot espc..wings or not:rotfl:

don't know if these are technically wings or not but they look like they are flying and they flap..taking these are the bane of my existence since the tent they are under is blue and really dark inside so give off a really strange lightbut with these little bright white lights that cause odd reflections and spots on the waves...maybe next yr i'll have a wider angle low light lens that can get the whole animal, er fish er whatever they are.
