Disney Vacation Club (DVC) members are in for a treat as the company has launched a promotional giveaway featuring a series of unique collectible coins. These coins celebrate various Disney destinations and can be claimed throughout 2023.
The design of these coins is a blend of tradition and locality. One side proudly displays the Disney Vacation Club logo, while the other side showcases iconic imagery from several DVC resorts. This includes the logos from Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney’s Riviera Resort, plus other resort-specific icons like a turtles from Disney’s Vero Beach Resort‘s Annual Tour de Turtles Event or a giraffe from Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas.

Claiming The Collectible Coins​

Members can receive these special tokens by visiting any DVC sales podium and speaking with a representative to claim their complimentary item.

It was posted in September. Had a family member there for Jersey week and no DVC salesperson had any idea about them.

When I was at Epcot, I went to the DVC booth and asked for one.

It comes in a plastic protective cover.

It was surprisingly heavy.

Ironically, the icon for Hilton Head is a doghouse. Apparently, someone didn't get the memo.

I've never asked for anything free and I won't be asking for this coin. I did appreciate when the sliders (the old ones) were included in my magic band package years ago. I don't see the coin as being anything special and it would probably end up in the drawer with my other travel stuff I don't know what to do with unless I'm travelling. It had to be cheaper to produce the sliders. Maybe some people would like to collect them.

IMO these are so lame! If they had thrown on a pin at the back they COULD be of some use to me as a pin collector but I see no value in something that is super hard to display, and not even every attractive, even if it is DVC.

We got ours in the DVC lounge in Epcot early in November.
Still have not found a good way to display it.

We got the coin in September, I guess it's ok, I haven't seen it since we returned home. Much preferred the sliders and it seems most people agree. What's so hard to understand about that? How much could those sliders have cost to produce, surely not even a nickel.

Interesting so many do not like the coin because I really wanted the coin and when we were there last weekend we were told they are all gone and the only way to get one was to purchase one on ebay.

We got the holiday sliders which we are happy with but even those they only gave 2 per membership. Between the 5 people that we were with, including our minor daughter, we have 3 memberships and the one lady at WL tried to argue with me about giving her a slider and kept saying contracts don't count as multiple memberships as I tried to explain I knew the difference between contracts and memberships the other DVC CM just handed us a 3rd slider for her and told us not to worry about it. Since most DVC stations in resort hotels are staffed by DVC guides it really annoyed me that she didn't understand what I was saying and was so dismissive.

They sent me a survey and I shared my concerns about her lack of knowledge. It was so crazy I kept saying we have 3 memberships, my son alone, my husband alone and then my husband and I have a joint membership and she kept saying "it doesn't matter how many contracts you have, the limit is 2 per membership." I then even tried explaining there were 8 contracts between the 3 different memberships so I know the difference between a contract and a membership but she was having nothing of it and kept insisting I was talking about contracts. Luckily the other CM seemed to get it and gave us the additional slider but she was just off.

I do wish the sliders were for those who are on the contract. My DD never understands why she doesn’t get one. I get the parents are the purchasers and decisions makers but it does seem like such a little gesture. But thankful for anything they give us. Now if they just started selling more merchandise.

Here is the west coast VGC & VDH coin. Was surprised with this at the Fantasy tower DVC location at Disneyland Hotel. Told Aulani has one there too.

Does anybody have an extra one of these for disney world?

I got the disneyland one and looking for wdw.

Cannot find on ebay and such plus they appear to be out at wdw.
