Free ice cream - give to a great cause - Make-A-Wish!

http://www.coldstonecreamery.com/secondary/calendar.asp

Join us for the 4th annual World’s Largest Ice Cream Cake Social at participating Cold Stone Creamery® locations nationwide, a special night to join together and share the simple pleasures of life with a FREE ice cream cake slice, family activities and good-natured fun. Search our site for a location near you.

On April 25th from 5:00 - 8:00pm, guests will be treated to a slice of Make-A-Wish Cake*. In exchange for the free cake slice, customers are encouraged to make donations to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

We suggest you try a very special “Make-A-Wish Cake Slice,” inspired by Micah, age 12 a wish child from Massachusetts. The cake slice consists of layers of moist Yellow Cake with Chocolate Ice Cream, Cookie Dough and Chocolate Shavings, covered in a rich fudge Ganache.

I've never tried this place but now I'm going to have to go! MAW is one of the best reasons I could think of to get me to eat ice cream :)

Thanks!!!!

I go to the one here every year. It's a great time- ours has teh LSU football players and a Smokehouse from the Fire Dept for the kids. DS had a ball- he didn't even eat the cake!

yum, great excuse ( I mean reason ;) ) to go there :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

You have got to try their cake batter ice cream. Sooooo good. It so reminds me of when I was a kid and my mom would make cupcakes and let me lick the bowl.

We have our city's first Cold Stone going in right now, but I don't know if it will be open in time. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for sharing!

We went- the cake was great but what was even better was seeing all of the donations that went to MAW. It was incredible- every wall in the store- floor to ceiling- even in the bathrooms- was covered in donation stickers, where you donate $1 or more and you get to personalize a little peice of paper and then stick it on the wall. It was a happy sight.

We didn't go for the event, but when we visited this past weekend, ours, too, was wall to wall papered. I told my DD we'll go back this coming weekend and try to find where they put ours LOL. I agree, MAW & the Ronald McDonald House are two of my favorite charities!

We went and our location was *empty*! I couldn't believe it. I called a couple of friends and told them to come down. My kids were excited because they were giving away MAW bracelets with donations. They each got one and we also donated enough to get a few more for friends. Honestly, this is about the only time we go to Coldstone because I think their prices are extremely high.

This is our second year attending this event. It's great. Unfortunately the weather definitely decreased the number of people showing up :( but that was great for us - I had been expecting a long line but walked right in. They had karaoke, face painting, the city's new fire truck on display (my kids loved climbing on it), etc. So much fun and yummy. I LOVE their ice cream. IT is soo good. The sinless sweet cream is awesome. But my fave is the red hot they had in February (they still have some in the back - gotta ask :)) mixed with a brownie and fudge. YUM YUM. OK now I'm craving it :flower:

PS Ours had their walls papered with donation slips too :goodvibes: I love it! The kids really enjoyed putting money in the donation jar (plus they love that they'll sing for tips and sang for donations too!)

Our Coldstone was packed with people- there was a line out the door and to my surprise we were the only people that I saw who got the free cake. Everybody else was getting sundaes or ice cream. But they were still filling up the MAW bucket.
