Coffee Maker

Can anyone recommend a good coffee maker. We have never had good luck with them. We're on about our fifth in in the last six or seven years. My Consumer Reports Buying Guide does not cover coffee makers this year, so I can't consult that. What's a good brand and model that's not too pricey. DH drinks black coffee every morning, so that's all it needs to brew. Also, tell me how long should these things last. One year or so just seems ridiculous. We've had Mr. Coffee, Black & Decker, etc. I think we've paid $35-$79.00 range for them. I just want something that won't just stop working one morning, like all these have. No warning, just dead!

I love the Gevalia coffee maker...it is free....you pay shipping and try a coffee subscriptioon. I accept 1 order of coffee, then suspend my subscription. The coffee maker is excellent. You can select from black, white or stainless and it has a timer. I have the 12 cup stainless model.

I believe I paid $15 for shipping, then $15 for a shipment of 2 small bags of coffee. They don't bug you to re-instate your coffee sub either. It has been a great company and it does have a great product, and provides a great coffee maker to make it in! Overall, I guess I am saying it is great!

We just bought a Cuisinart that we absolutely love. It received the top rating from Consumer Reports. Our last Cuisinart lasted 10 years before DH brewed a pot without the pot in place and short circuited it. It costs $80 at Bed Bath and Beyond so I used a 20% off coupon plus they currently have a $10 rebate so I paid a total of $54.
