Coffee in POFQ room?

I've heard that there are coffee makers in the moderate rooms. Do they have packs of coffee to make in the rooms, or do you need to bring your own? :coffee:

My problem with any of the in-room coffee makers is not only the coffee, but the creamer. I like my coffee light and absolutely detest powdered creamer of any kind. We drive to Disney and most often I bring my own coffee maker, creamer, mugs, etc. It is just easier to start off the day with things we like!

I'm not a coffee drinker, but if I were, I doubt I'd use the in-room coffee makers.

I would be concerned about how clean (or not clean they are).

And I've read that some folks use them for making things other than coffee.

I packed all my liquids in my checked suitcase, so I used my allotment of carry-on liquids to bring my favorite creamer in several 3oz bottles. I froze them overnight along with tiny (under 3oz) ice packs, and put them all in a quart ziplock. As soon as I got to my room, I put them in the fridge.

Also, if you want lids for the coffee cups, grab them from the quick serve restaurant, cause there is none in the room.

Coffee is supplied in the mod and deluxe resorts. The brand is Joffreys- they also supply almost all the food courts and restaurants. IMO it's a big improvement over the old Nescafe.

The coffee makers are side by side single serve units made by Cuisinart. They only take the Cuisinart (or similar) flat, round coffee pods ( check Amazon). Keurig cups won't work. The usual paper filters for larger coffee makers won't fit.

I wonder how many people who complain about the coffee in their room are using tap water to make their coffee. Florida tap water tastes horribly sulphurous. You need to use bottled water.

There's nothing particularly unhygienic about these coffee makers ( unlike the old multi cup pots that people used to cook God knows what). All you can do is pour water into the reservoir and either coffee ( if you used a pod) or hot water pours into the disposable cup. If you're worried, run it once or twice using plain water.

If you want "creamer" (that has probably never been anywhere near a cow) or actual milk, it's sold in the gift shop. You can get small cartons of milk in the food court. Stores well in your fridge.

The coffee isn't bad, however, don't use the tap water. The tap water is what makes it taste awful. Use bottled water and get real creamer.

We were there about a month ago. I don't drink coffee but DW and my Sister definitely made it in the room each morning and when we returned from the parks that evening it had been replenished. Neither are very picky about their coffee but both enjoyed it and had no complaints.

I actually like Joffrey's coffee! I agree that bottled water tastes a lot better.

Just ask at FQ. They will supply all the coffee you need.

Enjoy your trip!
