DW and I will be staying at OKW on our next trip. What kind of coffee filters should we bring?

Thanks

What a great question! I was going to ask the same thing. How much do the coffemakers make and what size of filters do we need to bring!

The coffee makers make up to 12 cups and you'll need the flat-bottomed 8-12 cups kind. :thumbsup2

They will supply a starter pack of coffee already in its own filter. I like to measure my own, so we usually bring the (Mr. Coffee type)filters, and open them up flat and store them in a plastic zip lock. It makes them easier to pack.

I was in a studio (bldg 17) at OKW 3 weeks ago. The coffee pot took cone shaped filters. Needess to say my basket filters did not work to well. It was a walk to Goods-To-Go for that much needed morning cup. Just a heads up.

I wonder if they are changing coffee makers again? They seem to need replacement often.

We will be in a studio at OKW as well. We have both types of filters at home, so we will bring both types just to be safe.

Suggestion - rather than taking filters and coffee separately - you can buy these coffee pod things - they're like really large tea bags (I took Maxwell House but I think Folgers makes them too). You just drop this into the basket and they're big enough to make 5 or 6 cups depending how strong you like it! They don't take up hardly any room to pack and they're perfect for a couple of cups in the morning!:thumbsup2 You can also buy coffee singles - again it's like a tea bag - but it's not instant coffee, it's regular coffee. Then you just heat the water in the microwave or whatever. (We took those singles things when we went tent camping this summer rather than packing a coffee pot to cut down on packing so much STUFF! They worked great!)

I'm wondering, can you call housekeeping and request the "right" kind of coffee maker if you get a cone shaped or if you get the 4 cup and really want the big one?
Also, I agree about the coffee pod things. They're apparently pretty popular at DVCs-I've noticed the containers of them prominently displayed at grocery stores around WDW and around HHI DVC.

even if mousekeeping told you which types they had, that could change by the time you check in. if they're replacing as needed, there may me a mixture within the same resorts.

Amazon.com has:
Maxwell House Filter Packs Ground Coffee, 10-Count Canisters (Pack of 6) for $26.28.
It's six canisters, each containing ten filter packets. Each packet makes ~ 7-10 cups. I've seen DVC in 8-cup, 10-cup, and 12-cup machines, so you can adjust the water for your preferred strength.
:coffee:
very conveniently packaged for DVC trips. most pod packages are for the single serving machines (like Senseo) but this is for automatic drip machines, like at DVC. I've used them in the round flat-bottom baskets and also in cone filters.

I presume this product comes in single containers at some grocery or convenience stores.
