My DH is very picky regarding the kind of coffee he likes, and he likes it every day. Where might we be able to find a decent light roast coffee, no flavors or anything fancy. DH does not prefer Starbucks but does like most of Caribou's light roasts. Thoughts, or are we in for some trouble ?

:confused3

Most places in WDW serve brewed Nescafe, which is marginal. I did have wonderful coffee recently at Kona Cafe (there's also a coffee bar right outside), BOMA, and Artist Point. There was also an outdoor cart in Epcot near Italy that made an iced latte that was TDF (to die for!). Otherwise it was disappointing for coffe snobs like moi!!

Coffee at Disney is very very very bad!!!

I bring my own small coffee pot, coffee & fixings wherever I travel so I can have my morning brew.

Boma used to have Kenyan coffee but the last time we were there (Oct of last year), they told us they had switched to the dreaded Nescafe. But I have heard you can get "real" coffee at Jiko, Kona and AP (there is also a stand in AK...can't remember the name of it, but it has African-grown coffees)

I'd recommend bringing your own beans - your husband sounds picky the same way mine is (Starbucks is burnt). We bring our own beans, filters, and sugar - we buy half and half at WDW (yes, despite being picky about the coffee, we are then crass enough to put sugar and half and half in it).

Fortunately, we only drink it in the morning and occationally with dessert. For dessert, we often put up with the dreaded Nescafe (extra cream)....but in the morning we need OUR coffee.

I am no coffee snob, but I can hardly stomach the nescafe stuff. In fact, I refuse to purchase another refillable mug until things get better!

Your not going to find much in WDW for coffee lovers. I love coffee but my best friend is really a coffee snob and she took one sip of coffee we picked up at the Boardwalk Bakery and tossed it in the garbage. :sad2: She complained about the coffee our entire stay.

Oddly enough I found the Nescafe at Pop far superior to the Nescafe at WL... however, neither were gourmet. The Pop variety was drinkable, though.

The only really good coffee we've had at WDW was at Kona Cafe. The cart outside serves the same coffee as the restaurant, but it is only open in the mornings.

We usually just choke down the nasty stuff that's served virtually everywhere to get our caffeine fix, but if your DH has to have decent coffee every day, I'd suggest bringing your own with you unless you're staying at the Polynesian.

We got a French press of Kenyan coffee at Boma last time we were there. Is that gone too?

Thanks for the comments. This was what I expected. We are staying at BC then AKL. What sort of coffee makers are in the rooms. I guess I need to be prepared to bring the coffee supplies along.

Boy, I would be REALLY bummed out if I can't get my Kenyan press pot at Boma! I love the Kenyan AA coffee, and buy at least 6#'s each trip at The Mara and take it home with me! I even have a special Animal Kingdom Lodge bag that I use to carry the coffee home in. :thumbsup2

I also love the Kona coffee at the Poly! (It just costs more! - ouch!)

Fear not....they do have the Kenyan press pots at Boma. It was really good! I was there the end of June.

Whew...I was getting nervous there! Thank heavens Boma still offers it :yay:
