Good Morning All,

I just tried to book a room at the Port Orleans Riverside. Called CRO and there was room available but not for the CKQ booking $85.00 a night.

The woman said they were all sold out. Not being familiar with this process, should I accept that, is it possible to book that at another time or should I just take it at the standard rate.

I am trying to go for dates Nov 30 to Dec 7 and time is running out.

Thanks for your help
:p :p :p

Have you looked on the web site mousesavers.com??? I think I saw a couple of new codes the otherday. Hope this helps.

Yes, they have a certain number of rooms in inventory for a certain discount rate - so it can be sold out while rack rate is still availabe. You can always keep calling back to see if anything opens up but I have been told that just because someone with a code rate cancels doesn't mean that room will then be put back in inventory at a discounted code rate.

So, if it were me I'd probably try to find the best deal I could on the room I wanted (maybe try AAA or DC if you belong to those things) and keep callling back to see if a better rate becomes available. It's kinda a catch though as the more rooms that are booked, the less likely a discount will be offered so . . . but I'd rather have a ressie than none at all.

I hope I'm explaining this well enough not to confuse you more :)

Good luck.

I also tried to get a room Dec 12 - 15 for the CKO code and found them all sold out last weekend. However, I mentioned to the CM that I was an AP holder, so she snared me a room at POR for an even better price than the code. So, if you have an AP, consider that option.

I have had Dreams Unlimited come up with a discounted rate when I couldn't get one through CRO. Also, if you use them, they will check regularly to see if a discounted rate becomes available - last year, they got me a better rate at WL 2 weeks before I was scheduled to leave for WDW. It certainly saves you a lot of long-distance calls and time on hold with CRO.

Also, you may want to check and see if any other moderate resorts still have rooms available at discounted rates, unless you are stuck on POR in particular.

Good luck - the rate codes can be difficult to use when you're planning a last-minute trip - I know!!!

Thanks for all your help.

Unfortunatly, I don't have a AP. I don't go to DW that often. I was going to try the AAA code.

What is Dreams Unlimited??

Yahoooooooooo I'M IN.

Just called CRO and tried to get the AAA discount, but before i did I thought I would try one more time using the CKQ code, even though this morning the woman said they were all sold out.

Well, I got the rate for Port Orleans Riverside at $94.00 a night. Not the $85.00 but better than the $133.00.

I guess it pays to keep calling back!!!!!!!!!!!!

It never hurts to keep checking. I hope you have a good time. :jester:

Congratulations...I pays to be persistant:D

amg,

I live in Big D and it will three years between our first and second trips. BUT I am buying an AP for the second because I'm hoping to get the AP on AKL and ASmovies and that will pay for the AP--AND then I'm going to push the envelope and make at least two more trips to WDW before my AP expires.

My gift to me!:smooth:

You can also continue to check for the lower rate. Availability changes continuously, as you've just discovered.
Another suggestion you could have tried is to ask the CM to check for which days might be available. Sometimes it's just one or two days that you can't get at the discount rate (especially Saturdays), and you can get separate reservations for the discount nights and the non-discount night(s). Then have the reservations linked together so you won't have to switch rooms -- this will require two deposits, but I've felt it worth it to get a good discount. Then continue to try for the discount on the nights you were paying full price.

Yeah Ann Marie!!!! SO glad you were able to get in. (You know what I am going to say right? For only a little more, you can stay at the WL or AKL, or buy the AP and save more ;)

(Tell Robin she has to pay the difference because she took so long to approve a week off!:p :bounce: :p )

Let the planning begin! (Don't forget to head over to the DISCON board to check out the DisCOn events)
