Codes/meal Plan Package

It sounds like the meal plan might be a good idea. It is my understanding though that if I want to purchase the meal plan I have to purchase a package. Is this true? And if I book a package deal either through AAA or DW in order to get the meal plan feature and then "codes" come out later for July (that's when we are going) that are lower than my AAA rate, can I still call back and have the codes applied to the room rate? Thanks.

It's either codes or meal plan. You can get the AAA discount, and if you really want the meal plan the AAA is the best way to go. It has been described as double dipping...can't get both. If you want the codes...hold out for the DDE/AP discount. Good luck

Thanks for the reply. Sounds like you are telling me that if I book a package (with meal plan tickets) then a "code" can not be applied later? I just want to make sure I understand. Sorry, I think the more I plan this trip the more confused I get.

Several DISeres have been able to use the dining plan with email or postcard codes. Many of us are waiting to see if we can add dining to general codes if/when they are released. I'm pretty sure we'll be able to do it.

In the past CRO would put out two sets of codes. A three letter code that was room only and then a four letter code that was good for packages (the silver plan).

I booked a package thru AAA and my agent said she would be more than happy to try and apply any code I would receive to our package. That doesn't mean it will definately work but doesn't hurt to try

With the new system, I am confused, too. It took me years to where I felt like I finally got a grip on WDW and tickets and all....now I have to start all over again!
