cocoa beach

Is there a reason for Cocoa Beach?
The coastline down the West coast is far nicer IMO.
No idea on hotels over there only been for a few hours, not a fan myself.

Agree completely!

My sister got married on Cocoa Beach and it took ages for her to research a spot that werent covered in reeds growing through the sand etc, her wedding was beautiful and so was parts the beach but after having been to Clearwater & St Petes, I would go to Clearwater before any of the others any day of the week!

We were planning on Cocoa Beach when our trip was in October but a few peeps advised me against... Had a really good recommendation for Daytona

Wanted to give you the web address but just been told I need to make another post elsewhere before I've scored high enough to post url's will come back to you.

I am thinking of taking the kids to Cocoa Beach as well but just for a day trip, prior to their Dad joining us. Its the proximity to Orlando that does it for me.

Daytona has to be one of the worst places I have been in Florida, went August 2 years ago expecting a thriving place. It was like a ghost town. Only 1 other car in the car park, shops started opening up around 11am but all they sold was tat. We stayed a couple of hours and left. Maybe comes alive in the evnings but a wasted trip for us.

Google maps say
Cocoa Beech to DisneyWorld is 70 miles 1 hour 16 mins (I do it in about 1 hour, just over)
Clearwater to Disneyworld is 93 miles 1 hour 49 mins (I do it about 90 mins, less if a good run)
Worth the extra any day to me. On the other hand if you combined the East coast trip with a couple of hours at Port Canaveral waving off the cruiseships on a Sunday afternoon that would swing Cocoa Beach for me.

thanks for all the replies, Clearwater now sounding like a good option, but what is there to do down there?
